.@POTUS comes to #NYC & fails to mention one thing about keeping career criminals behind bars, or the fact that, under NY’s bail law, tens of thousands of criminals released were repeat offenders or were rearrested after release for another crime.
The vast majority of individuals arrested for an illegal firearm are released pre-trial. The person who shot a teen at Kings Plaza in #Brooklyn just the other day was arrested in November for having four illegal firearms, but was released to commit this shooting.
While @POTUS spoke a lot about gun violence, he did not address every other category of crime, including rape, robbery, car theft, or assault, that are currently skyrocketing in our city. In my district, a young man was recently stabbed to death.
From fixing the botched bail & Raise The Age laws, appointing better judges, restoring judicial discretion, electing prosecutors that actually prosecute crime, & ending sanctuary city protections for criminals, there’s no shortage of things NY can do to restore public safety.
The root cause of rising crime in #NYC is Democrats' soft-on-crime approach that has put our law enforcement & residents in harm's way. There must be consequences for breaking the law. Until then, criminals will just feel emboldened to do as they wish.

While Republicans continue to stand up for human rights, call for hearings into origins of COVID & end US funding of Wuhan lab, Democrats want a $300B spending bill that gives the United Nations a climate slush fund & sends billions more to China to continue its slave labor.(1/4)
The package is called COMPETES Act, but does little to actually make American companies more competitive or protect their intellectual property, and refers to coral reefs more times than China and climate change twice as much as national security. (2/4)
It should also come as no surprise that Democrats rejected Nicole’s amendment to require the Biden family publicly disclose ALL business dealings with Chinese Communist Party members and controlled entities. (3/4)
