joe rogan is a half billionaire, wealthier than all the reporters at CNN/MSNBC/NYT combined, yet he's framed as a working-class hero bc he's a bald roided up white guy in his 50s who wears t-shirts and jeans w/ center-right to far right views on social issues
when you actually examine his views, he's no different from what you find in conservative to liberal media institutions, from fox to CNN/MSNBC. but there's nothing professional media class hacks love more than presenting themselves as edgy outsiders

the framing of joe rogan as the common man by media class hacks reminds me of that joe the plumber guy, who also turned out to be a fraud, cosplaying as working-class when he was an upper middle class business owner. rogan is that guy on steroids (literally and figuratively)

in the full lecture mearsheimer goes into great detail on the background causes, which are basically that the US, despite promises and agreements with the Russians to not expand NATO, went ahead with pushing it anyway, knowing what the response would be

at one point edward said wanted to have a debate with that genocidal freak netanyahu, but he refused to even be in the same room with said given his virulent racism as is recounted here
