Many decry the decline of #Ptbo, drastic rise in societal ills since ~2018. A direct line can be drawn from who we elected, and its not Municipal. General characteristic? Liberals spend, Conservatives do not. I've never lived under an NDP gov't, so I'll trust others to chime in.

In June 2018, Ont chose @OntarioPCParty, with @DaveSmithMP unseating Jeff Leal (Lib) after 15 yrs. @NDPptbo came 2nd, by 2,386 votes. Our 1st rep with no political experience & a party that doesn't spend $, prefers the private sector to step in.

Classic example? Our MPP's inability to bring #Ptbo $ to tackle opioids. No matter your vote, Health Care is a prov resp & he's brought ZERO to us in 3.5 yrs. The public raised $ for renos, @Ptbohealth now asking the region for stopgap $200K. See how this works for Conservatives?

Combine this with @mferreriptbokaw being a neophyte backbencher in a minority government with a party in complete disarray, & looking for her next positioning. Her eyes are not on #Ptbo. A perfect storm caused by electing our MP & MPP. Voting has consequences, & we're living it.

I ❤ that @twpiggott has ++ the pressure. Note the funding window ends after the next elxn. I'm sad that #Ptbo Council has had to ask @DaveSmithPtbo to appear before them. Again. He's shown he has no initiative, no power to influence @celliottability decisions. He's an outlier.

Ptbo's next MPP must be experienced in gov't, educated in related fields, know the law & have the potential, power & influence to be in an inner circle. That's the only way we can counter our MP's inabilities, how $ will start to flow here again to tackle the many issues we face!
