Combat drones: We are in a new era of warfare : The combat drone was once the preserve of military superpowers but no longer. Its use by insurgents and smaller nations is already changing the nature of battle

1/ from bbc.com/news/world-600…
the use of UAVs has moved from counter-terrorism or counter-insurgency warfare into full scale conventional combat. Indeed, up ahead, a new third age of drone warfare beckons as technology becomes ever more sophisticated and linked to artificial intelligence
2/
drones have had a decisive impact contributing to the survival of Libya's internationally recognised gvt and, in last year's Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkish supplied drones were a potent factor enabling Azerbaijan's forces to wrest control of disputed enclave from Armenia
3/
While the US has been reluctant to export its leading edge technology to anyone other than its closest allies, others make no such distinctions. Over 100 countries and non-state groups have drones, and many actors have access to armed drones
4/
China is by far the leading exporter of armed drones worldwide. But drones are not just accessible to leading military powers. Middle powers such as Iran and Turkey have access to drone technology and are selling systems abroad
5/
commercial drone technology is so widely available that anyone could build a crude DIY attack drone for a few hundred dollars, and some terrorist groups have. States and non-state groups that can't afford to buy fighter jets can buy drones
6/
Russia used its involvement in Syria as a testing ground for the incorporation of drones into its wider order of battle.Russia may be a decade or so behind US in sophistication, but Russian armed forces may well be ahead in terms of integrating drones into their fighting units.7/
The utility of this organisation has been proven in combat with instances of Ukrainian armoured units speedily identified; their communications jammed and devastating artillery fire directed against them 8/
drone swarms could be used for simultaneous, multi-directional attacks in ways that could overwhelm human defenders. Over time, this could have a dramatic effect in transforming warfare

I made this post in general. Not directed at anyone. But one section of ppl have replied that they have “woken” up now. Validating my tweet & also accepting their regression. Sad.

Wow do we call these “woken” chaps as “woke” ? 😂😂
India’s goal was/is development-become a middle/upper middle income country. We rank 144 (2020). Some got left behind on socio-economic parameters because of their own issues & “appeasement”. Others progressed. Now for some “civilisational or ideological goals” we want to go back.
This will only hurt our development journey, to become say a $20 tn economy by mid century. Do we want to end up at the very socio-economic condition of the “appeased” ppl? Talk about cutting nose to spite the face. Strange schadenfreude+masochist.

On Pakistan’s national security policy wrt India:
1- Blames India for impeding connectivity in the subcontinent
2- It wants to challenge India declaring itself as a net security provider
3- Accuses India & genocide in Kashmir.continue to support (= terrorism)
1/
4- Wants to improve relations with India with “Just and peaceful” resolution of Kashmir at its core
6- Calls “Hindutva” it’s security threat
7- Concerned about India’s military modernisation, getting nuke exception.
2/
It wants to “reimagine” its relations with Russia which it sees as growing rapidly. Largely, the doc focus is on its economy.
I have seen reports in India about Pak wanting peace, change in stance etc. There is nothing beyond what Pak has not said over the years. So yawn🥱

Bhishma says in his instructions to Yudhishthira that whatever creates conflict is Adharma, and whatever puts an end to conflict and brings about unity and harmony is Dharma.... punarnava.org/dharma.php

2n ...Anything that helps to unite all and develop pure divine love and universal brotherhood, is Dharma. Anything that creates discord, split and disharmony and foments hatred, is Adharma....
3n Dharma brings as its consequence happiness, both in this world and in the next. Dharma is the means of preserving ones self. If you transgress it, it will kill you. If you protect it, it will protect you. It is your sole companion after death. It is the sole refuge of humanity

I sent some samples of some products to Australia against payment via courier. Got notice from bank that this payment needs corresponding customs shipping bill. I have none.Possible scrutiny later, all for a small amount. Fix our laws, rather get rid of useless laws & regulations
Was having lunch with my clearing agent. He talked about a couple of cases -
- Garment export.
1- Customs chaps think it’s their birthright to pick up stuff they like.
2-Accuse of inflating invoice value to get drawback-time+$+₹ lost
India’s garments export have shrunk BTW
1/2
Another case-an exporter didn’t apply for LUT, paid full GST & didn’t apply for drawback. Customs said they suspect something wrong because the exporter didn’t apply for LUT & drawback.🤷‍♂️

How will India ever get into the shelves of supermarkets in every country like this?

At least 30% kirana shops in Mumbai alone are on the verge of closure. More than 50,000 small sweet shops, those selling plastics, toys, bags and other small items have already vanished in parts of Karnataka deccanherald.com/business/econo…
Only 7% of the 7 crore small businesses are able to obtain finance from banks and other financial institutions, while the rest 93% traders are dependent upon informal source like family and friends to meet their financial requirements. deccanherald.com/business/econo…
A point that I’ve repeatedly raised for several years. Demo hit this section of business owners the most. They never figure in any gvt plan on supporting biz. And this sector gets tax terrored the most as well as they are small & vulnerable.
