unlikely I would have been a maximalist given my software, OS, end-end solutions, #buidl focus

what attracted me to #blockchain was the comp sci terms that invaded my social feed 2015

what attracted me to Ethereum was the #buidling

by Aug 2015 I had become convinced #blockchain would be the next wave

in Jan 2016 pivoted all my work @Microsoft

speed of open-source development, PKI, distributed system w/ an incentive model is vastly more complicated than an AppStore

2023 feels right=> 8 years

A number of things had to come together to get here
- Ethereum L1 hardened over years
- Ecommerce models viable
- Layered scaling patterns
- Defacto standards in tokens / wallets UX
- Appstore controls, fees, payments changed
- Brand interest in tokens

We still have work to do on consumer protection/awareness:
- incorruptible consumer backup/recovery of keys & secrets
- web style trust certs for addresses; reputation?
- wallet/browser alerts when sending to unknown/low cred addresses
- optional threshold m of n requirements

while talking about #blockchain "crossing the chasm" and reaching the "tipping point" in 2019, I also referenced the consumer key problem
