@joachimfrank So, to pick up where I left off to digress… The postdocs and students in the aforementioned labs had only one, I guess you could call it a nickname for the first of your two works above: “The Bible”.

@joachimfrank Although I left the field in 2017 (what a year for cryoEM!), I think I am still correct in my advice to new comers in this area:1) get the very best images you can (Steve Fuller early on taught me the « s… in, s… out » adage of image processing),2) know our Bible inside out…

@joachimfrank …before you try your hand at the brilliant new image processing methods of @SjorsScheres & Co. Because, in this area as in all other areas of human endeavours, all we can do to do our very best is (respectfully) to « stand on the shoulders of giants ».
