Florida Judge John C. Cooper tells Governor Ron DeSantis - in substance - to go pound sand, ruling that DeSantis can not stop Florida schools from requiring masks to protect children, teachers, staff & by extension, all Floridians. podcasts.apple.com/fr/podcast/jus…
But Judge Cooper didn't stop there - he also issued an injunction prohibiting the state from retaliating against school boards that require students to wear masks to protect against the spread of the coronavirus.
Michigan Federal District Court Judge Linda Parker issued a scathing, 110-page opinion sanctioning 9 pro-Trump lawyers for their lawsuit that was an abuse of the judicial system designed to corruptly undermine Americans' faith & confidence in 2020 presidential election results.
Judge Parker also directed that her opinion be provided to the state bar authorities where each lawyer is admitted to practice for investigation and possible suspension and disbarment.
The House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol attack has signaled that it is conducting a massive investigation - some might even call it a sweeping and systematic - into the insurrection.
The House Committee just demanded information across multiple executive branch agencies, specifically seeking information and records about: [cf. @allisongill’s #FantasyInditementLeague@MuellerSheWrote] Donald Trump, Don Jr., Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Eric Trump, Lara Trump
, Mark Meadows, Dan Scavino, Stephen Miller, Robert O'Brien, Chad Wolf, Jeffrey Clark, Christopher Miller, Pat Cipollone, Peter Navarro, Kayleigh McEnany, Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani, Alex Jones, George Papadopolous, Mike Lindell and others.
.@glennkirschner2 therefore concludes that: The House Committee seems to be conducting the kind of massive, wide-ranging investigation that the Department of Justice should be (and likely is) conducting into the insurrection.
🥳 @aisle45pod 🥳
1. Rudy Giuliani's criminal associate, Igor Fruman, will be pleading guilty in federal court in New York on Wednesday. This spells real trouble for not only Rudy Giuliani but for Donald Trump as well.
2. The House Select Committee investigating the January 6 insurrection took steps today signaling that the committee will be subpoenaing the cell phone records of members of Congress to explore their possible complicity in the insurrection.
All these judicial moves were announced since Tuesday! The Wheels of Justice turn ever so slowly usually @glennkirschner2 but it is now hard to argue that where Trump, his ci-conspirators, his clique & his followers are concerned Justice is not now on a fast accelerating roll!!
The missing Florida children…Tragic reminder by @ProjectLincoln of the effects of thevstupidity, arrogance and « unreality » of @GovRonDeSantis . May his blatant lies soon be judged for what they: crimes against humanity.
NB: Must-listen, celebratory podcast about this trial. Warning: you are likely to become giddy listening in and will definitely want to reach for the 🍾 🥂 sometime during the show so do remember to cool a good bottle in the fridge before hand! openargs.com/oa520-kraken-l…

Dear @ASlavitt and @JeremyFarrar , great episode of In the Bubble broadcast today! Two of the sharpest, kindest, universal and most strategically and practically thinking minds of the global fight against this horrid pandemic inform us… podcasts.apple.com/fr/podcast/in-…
…matter of factly that our world still does NOT have, >18+ months into this global catastrophe, a coordinated global plan to fight ourselves out of this deadly ordeal. Worse, we may well be squandering our best chance right now by selfishly not focusing on vaccinating the world.
But, no matter, you simply propose to write one together, presumably also with @DrTedros and his team @WHO, and shove asap it under the noses of our so self-centred & shortsighted national politicians who are part of G20 and G7.
“When an iPhone is compromised, it’s done in such a way that allows the attacker to obtain so-called root privileges, or administrative privileges, on the device,” said Guarnieri. “Pegasus can do more than what the owner of the device can do.”
One of the most significant challenges that Pegasus presents to journalists and human rights defenders is the fact that the software exploits undiscovered vulnerabilities, meaning even the most security-conscious mobile phone user cannot prevent an attack.
Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said at a White House briefing that the most recent weekly average shows a 7% increase in infections in the US from the previous week, at about 57,000 cases a day.
New hospitalizations have slightly increased, too.
“I remain deeply concerned about this trajectory. Please, take this moment very seriously,” Walensky said.
And finally, thanks @Twitter for the pretty paper reminder (although next time please choose another colour but pink for background) of my #TwitAnniversary today.
I initially joined @Twitter inspired by @aiww ‘s powerful use of it as a political, political and artistic opponent of #China .
and because I wanted keep up with the people in Belgium who tweeted cat pictures and gifs to support each other while their area was been searched by police following the terrorist attack Nov 2018. doi.org/10.1080/136911…
