So this intro immediately tries to 3rd party our union.
Yes, the NLRB did notify BDS Connected Solutions BUT we, the ACTUAL WORKERS, sent an email before filing with the NLRB to notify management that we (the workers) had organized a union.
Already management is looking to ignore our direct communication and belittle our power.
@CWAUnion is not unionizing SOME employees….we, the SUPERMAJORITY of workers, have organized our own union.
Then, management offers their opinion even though they do not get a vote in our union election.
They use a tired argument around union dues that erases the fact that on average, union workers' wages are **11.2% higher than their nonunion counterparts.**
We want to pay dues to OUR union so that WE have the resources necessary to effectively negotiate at the bargaining table & win us the real pay that we deserve.
Also, we’re not bringing in an OUTSIDE organization. We have organized alongside our fellow workers and we, the workers ARE OUR UNION.
And obviously organizing ourselves as a union is necessary because we’re not getting the pay, benefits & workplace stability we want or deserve.
If @googlefiber & @BDSConnected management won’t hear our concerns as individual workers, they will be forced to listen to us as a collectively organized group of workers.✊
Also their example of having a union where only 62% of workers support it does not apply to us…we enjoy 90% support for our union. 💅
And again, dues are negligible in comparison to the pay raise we can negotiate for ourselves as a union.
Lastly, we know that this offer to "keep us informed" is actually just a reference to the union busting tactics we can expect BDS Connected Solutions & Google Fiber to engage in.
They will likely attempt to hold us in “captive audience meetings” where all employees will be forcibly inundated with information to scare us away from exercising our rights as workers.
This is why we need to pass the #PROAct, because it’s not a fair election if one side can force everyone to listen to arguments against exercising our legal rights as workers.
But we know that BDS Connected Solutions & Google Fiber are not interested in a fair election. They have refused to commit to no union-busting tactics and instead have begun the union-busting playbook.
But that won’t stop workers.
We are so excited to begin our union election with the NLRB as we enjoy supermajority support.
Soon, we will win a protected voice on the job!

We've been hearing about folks who are pushed into EAP—employee assistance program, i.e. therapy—when they raise workplace concerns like harassment.
Now this pattern is public. And worse, Google is actually using therapy records against people in court. nytimes.com/2021/07/28/us/…
@chelseyglasson filed a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit against Google b/c she was stripped of management responsibilities & told her pregnancy would "rock the boat."
She had gone through the EAP therapy. When she filed suit, Google used her therapy records against her.
This is a huge violation. We've been demanding that Google stop using information from EAP sessions in lawsuits & stop pushing people into EAP instead of addressing their workplace harassment.
Our statement on yesterday's coup attempt at the Capitol.
Social media companies, including YouTube, an Alphabet product, bear tremendous responsibility for the growing fascist movement in the US.
We have organized against this before & we stand ready to do so again—as a union.
Text: Alphabet Workers Union Statement on Yesterday's Insurrection
Yesterday, a mob of fascists, urged on by the sitting president of the United States, stormed the Capitol in Washington, D.C. in an attempt to prevent the certification of the results of the presidential election.
Donald Trump then celebrated the insurrectionists in a video posted on social media, including on his YouTube channel, where he told armed fascists, "We love you, you're very special."
The past few years at Google have been tumultuous: secret military AI projects, multi-million dollar payouts to execs who sexually harassed our coworkers, profiting from hate speech, & more.
Coworkers who've voiced concerns have even been fired, illegally, as retaliation.
And the only thing that's changed anything is worker organizing.
