As a society, we need to reform the prevailing marriage system. Marriage must not be a pompous show of the family's social status and wealth. Parents have to realise that the barbaric dowry system degrades our daughters as commodities. We must treat them better, as human beings.

A fair society is that which treats women and men as equals. In light of the recent horrifying incidents of domestic abuse, Kerala has decided to take more stringent measures to create a fair society. The Government and the people will stand together to end this injustice.

Men must accept the truth that women are not inferior and that they have equal rights. Youth organisations need to initiate awareness campaigns. Parents should make conscious efforts to inculcate such progressive attitudes in their children. We have to nurture a new culture.

The special session of the Kerala legislative assembly has passed a resolution against Centre's new farm laws. Our national capital is witnessing an unprecedented struggle. Farmers have braved extreme cold & other hardships to join the struggle. In 35 days, 32 lives lost.

Centre must abstain from acts that could provoke such outrage, especially in this pandemic situation. The sector employs 43.3% of our country’s labour force. It’s a part of our culture. Therefore, the reforms in the sector need to be implemented with great care & consideration.

Kerala has vast experience in this regard. It is a state that has successfully implemented the Land Reforms Act. In addition, the State has made impactful interventions in resolving agricultural crises by ensuring the participation of local bodies & co-operatives.

In a tragic incident in Palakkad dist, a pregnant elephant has lost its life. Many of you have reached out to us. We want to assure you that your concerns will not go in vain. Justice will prevail.

An investigation is underway, focusing on three suspects. The police and forest departments will jointly investigate the incident. The district police chief and the district forest officer visited the site today. We will do everything possible to bring the culprits to justice.

We will also try to address the causes behind the increased incidences of Human-wildlife conflict. Climate change could be adversely affecting both the local communities & animals.

Care For Guest Workers | #COVID19

Kerala hosts a large number of workers from other Indian States; the State considers them as guest workers.

Measures have been taken to ensure their security and well-being. A senior IAS official has been assigned to coordinate the efforts.

In one place, some workers have expressed a desire to travel to their home states. Unfortunately, this is not possible since we are in a nationwide lockdown. Traveling at this juncture will be dangerous and counterproductive to our efforts against #COVID19.

Kerala has opened 4603 camps for the State's guest workers.1,44,145 guest workers are in these facilities. Masks, soaps & sanitizers have been made available in these #COVID19 camps.
