.@edocarroll, who leads the Fairfax County Police Department's Major Crimes Cyber and Forensic Bureau, announced the arrest of a 23-year-old woman from Harrisonburg was taken into custody. She was charged with second-degree murder and other charges. @wusa9

"This is a tragic case," O'Carroll said. He said a man was found suffering with a shot in his upper body.

Investigators searched the area, found a firearm, "with an extended magazine."

Investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other.

.@edocarroll said investigators say neither the suspect/victim resided in the apartment where the man was found shot. He says detectives don't believe the shooting was random and he's acting for anyone with information to come forward. @wusa9

It's unclear the nature of the relationship between the suspect/shooter.

The name of the woman connected to the shooting who faces charges, according to @edocarroll, is Kaitlynn Nicole Nicholas, 23, of Harrisonburg.
