The last archive of the TGC author page with Dante listed is July 17, 2021. He was removed sometime between then and August 18, 2021. web.archive.org/web/2021071721…
Trying to figure out what may have triggered this. He was James Cone-posting, James Baldwin-posting, long before they took him off. He was writing for RNS as of January '21.
Womanist-posting as far back as October 2018. May have been that he started talking abt "decolonizing" in spring 2021. Maybe that's the line for TGC.
One last thing: This tweet we're all fussing about is a repost, he first publicly embraced "queer theology" in November of last year (at least on the Bird App) archive.is/z9ahs

Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley of Alexandria, VA's Alfred Street Baptist Church says Christians who don't wear masks are violating the commandments of God. His guest, Yale prof Obery Hendricks Jr, will go on to call them "anathema" and "antichrist."
"These folk are not fulfilling their gospel responsibility...What we see reflected in their attitudes and their actions and their pronouncements is what 1 John calls the spirit of antichrist."
"Franklin Graham, he's got a spirit of antichrist...I'm not saying that they're evil people. I'm saying, though, that they are in the thrall of evil discourse and evil actions, and we have to start calling evil by its rightful name."

Been a while since I've touched Holy Post content. I can only dip in + out every so often or else the smugness overcomes me.
This was a delightfully salty episode where Skye + Phil grouse about wolves losing and shepherds winning in 2021. 😘
"[The Reformers] tended to define the gospel in juxtaposition to the Roman Catholic ideas, not necessarily on an objective reading of the NT...We are always redefining it based on what heresy at the moment we're fighting against."
All this time and I've never done a foot washing clip!
"I want a young black man up here, because he represents some things...This young man doesn't just represent black America. This young man represents all minorities for this moment."

"We all know about the Holocaust, but for some reason, [the trans-Atlantic slave trade] has never been really advertised too much, because my race, we don't want to feel guilty.
And I'm not saying you should feel guilty, because you didn't do that, but your race did."
