Mounties have arrested 11 people at the #Coutts border blockade: "The Alberta RCMP recently became aware of a small organized group within the larger Coutts protest. Information was received that this group had access to a cache of firearms with a large quantity of ammunition."
More from RCMP: "The group was said to have a willingness to use force against the police if any attempts were made to disrupt the blockade. This resulted in an immediate and complex investigation to determine the extent of the threat and criminal organization."
Early this morning, police searched three trailers and found:
13 long guns
handguns
multiple sets of body armour
a machete
a large quantity of ammunition
high capacity magazines
As mentioned 11 people have been arrested.
Mounties also suggest that the farm tractor and a semi-truck that tried to ram a police vehicle Sunday evening is part of the "militant mindset of a small segment of the protest."
The RCMP has a released an image of the items seized at #coutts early this morning.
Mounties also say 2 more people were arrested. One was detained and two weapons seized in a highway stop. And at 12:45 pm, a semi accelerated toward an RCMP check stop north of Milk River. Police say the driver swerved at the last moment. That driver was arrested near the scene
