1. Anytime you turn on the TV, you'll see ads promoting the efforts of major corporations to achieve "net zero" emissions.

They want you to know they are taking the climate crisis seriously.

But are these companies actually taking meaningful action?

2. @Amazon is very into climate pledges. It created The Climate Pledge to encourage other companies to pledge to reach net zero by 2040

And they renamed the home of the NHL's Kraken "Climate Pledge Arena"

But Amazon's CO2 emissions have been INCREASING

3. It's very easy to MAKE a pledge.

It's much harder to CREATE a credible plan to achieve net zero.

And it's even harder to EXECUTE against that plan.

4. @newclimateinst evaluated 25 major corporations who have taken climate pledges. None of the 25 companies were rated "high" for transparency or integrity. Most performed VERY poorly.

5. While all these companies CLAIM to have a plan to reach net zero, collectively they've committed to eliminating just 20% of their emissions.

Half of the companies studied have not committed to any specific reductions.

6. @Nestle, for example, claims that it "will halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050."

But its pledge includes "no defined target for own emission reductions"

1. Louisiana @AGJeffLandry appeared last December with RFK Jr. at a hearing to spread misinformation about COVID vaccines and the state "mandate" to vaccinate students.

Now he's using the same dishonest tactics to raise money.

First, COVID vaccines will be treated like all other vaccines in LA. And that means parents can opt-out for any reason - medical, religious, or philosophical
3. Second, even that optional "requirement" only applies to situations where the vaccine is fully approved by the FDA. And that applies, right now, only to students 16 and older

So the claim that children as young as 5 will be forced to get the vaccine is false in multiple ways

There are now 15 BILLS IN 8 STATES prohibiting discussions of LGBTQ identities in schools, according to a new report by @PENamerica

Not sexually explicit depictions of homosexuality.

3. In South Carolina, H 4605 forbids teachers from “subject[ing]” students to “controversial and age-inappropriate topics” like “gender identity or lifestyles.”

1. Comedian @MichaelRapaport posted a viral video of a man stealing items from @riteaid

He claimed the store was closing due to thefts

His claims were repeated by @nypost, @axios, and other outlets

But it was all a lie

The executive, @tmhuston, was also Speaker of the Indiana House

Today, the College Board announced it was parting ways with Huston
