For 10+ years, do these 11 things until they say "you're lucky".

When you hear those words, smile.

= Thread =
1. Show up

Eighty percent of success is showing up.

This is your life, and you are the artist of your masterpiece.

Showing up is about being present in the moment and consistent in the areas that matter in your life, day in, day out.
2. Be patient

Success will not happen overnight.

It will happen when you show up consistently, day in and day out, and are committed to the process.

To be successful, you need to be persistent in your actions and patient with your results.
3. Be humble

Humility goes a long way.

It allows us to maintain a beginner's mindset.

Successful people do not like to be with arrogant people who have all the answers.

Humility allows us to be around these successful people, which will enable us to grow in specific ways.
4. Set your goals

Successful people set goals.

A Harvard MBA class was asked if they had goals and a plan:

C - 84% no goals
B - 13% goals, no plan
A - 3% goals and a plan

Ten years later, B was earning twice as much as C.

A students earned 10x the B and C groups combined.
5. Have a plan

A crap map is better than no map.

To create your plan, first, know what you want ☝️, then understand what it takes.

Look to people who have achieved what you want to achieve. Study them as a guide. If you can, reach out to them for advice to create your plan.
6. Be willing to fail

"Failure is not the opposite of success. It is part of success."

Too many people don't start because they are afraid to fail.

Instead, start even if you are afraid of failing. If you fail, start again, and again, until you succeed.
7. Learn from failure

"Failures are the stairs we climb to reach success."

Failures lead to success when we are willing to learn from the loss and keep going.

Ask yourself:

- why did I fail
- what can I change
- how will it work differently

After answering these, go again.
8. Develop good habits

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

If we want to be successful, then we need to BE successful.

We need to adopt the habits and behaviors that will lead to our success.
9. Have a beginner's mindset

Humility drives a beginner's mindset.

It recognizes that we do not have the answers to everything.

In everything you seek to do in life, be open to learning, growing, and improving.

When you do this consistently for 10+ years, you will succeed.
10. Surround yourself with winners

Your circle is your net worth.

If your friends are wealthy, you will be.

If your friends are physically fit, you will be.

Surround yourself with people who have achieved what you want in life, and you will find yourself reaching the same.
11. Be the hardest worker in the room

Nothing above matters without work.

If you know what you want, create a plan to achieve it, and do the daily work, you will win.

I often refer to this as having a blue-collar work ethic in a white-collar job. Be willing to grind it out.
