Colossal three faced Shiva (8th c. CE) Pandrethan, Kashmir

This massive Shiva sculpture in classical Kashmir style was excavated at Pandrethan (Puranadhisthana or ancient capital) near the Sri-Meru-Varddhana-swami temple - the best preserved Shiva temple of Sarvatobhadra style. Image
Pandrethan was part of the original site of Srinagar founded by King Pravarsena (4th c.). The temple was built on a lake, with sculptures of deities on ceiling & walls; the 2-tiered pyramidal Garbha Griha was stunningly beautiful reflecting the mastery of ancient Hindu artisans Image
It has 4 entrances with pedimented trefoil designs. Situated in the foothills of Zabarwan range, on Jhelum River, along with this massive Shiva Murti were found magnificent sculptures of Shiva Trimurti, Varaha, Indrani in a dancing pose & several Shiva Lingas. Image
Its relative inaccessibility helped the temple to escape complete destruction by Islamic invaders, but before the 1800s, it was converted into a Dargah by plastering over the Murtis & decorations - the commonest & easiest way for Muslims to misappropriate ancient Hindu temples. Image
It is thanks to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army in Kashmir, that the site is so well preserved. They adopted the ancient excavation site of Pandrethan within Badami Bagh cantonment & after restoration, aptly named it ‘Dharohar’.

The colossal Shiva linga & other architectural remains for miles around Pandrethan indicate that it was part of a much bigger temple complex & city. This was the heart of ancient Srinagar as established by both historical accounts & the name itself which means "ancient capital" ImageImage

Hitler clearly used the word “Hakenkreuz” or Christian “hooked cross” NOT the word Swastika, in “Mein Kampf”- the Bible of Nazism & its symbols. He did not know the word Swastika or Sanskrit. In contrast he knew & used the word “Aryan” learnt from Aryan Supremacy theorists. ImageImage
In “Mein Kampf” Hitler has entire chapters like “Der Arier als Kulturbegründer” (The Aryan as a founder of culture) where he uses the term Aryan. Surely he would have also used Swastika if that's what Nazis called the symbol, but instead he clearly calls it the Hakenkreuz. Image
Dr. Daniel Rancour-Laferriere, in his book "The Sign of the Cross: From Golgotha to Genocide" shows that as a child Hitler was very impressed by a stylized Hakenkreuz in the coat of arms of the statue of Abbot Theoderich von Hagen at the Lambach Abbey in Austria. Image

Why do distorians like Audrey Truschke twist history & try to link Hindutva to Nazism without proof, but never discuss factual evidence of how the Nazi regime allied with Muslim groups? Thousands of Muslim soldiers fought in the Axis army & Adolf openly admired Islam
2
Albert Speer, who was Reich Minister of Armaments wrote a memoir called “Inside the Third Reich”, in which he records Adolf’s views on Islam. The German leader didn’t just admire Islam, he wished that ancient Germans had converted to Islam instead of Christianity.
3
Speer refers to Adolf’s talks with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini in Nov. 1941, to discuss shared interests. As a result of that meeting, Husseini would help the Secret Service by raising a group of thousands of Muslim volunteers to serve the German Army.

Shubh Ganatantra Diwas (Republic Day) to all!🇮🇳🙏
Centuries before Greece supposedly became the birthplace of democracy (6th c. BCE), the Aitareya Brahmana (1000 BCE) describes the Svarājya Constitution of democratic government for a self-ruling republic prevailing in Bharat.
This Constitution calls the leader of a Svarājya govt. as Svarāt - literally “Self-ruler”. He/she was elected solely on merit by a Gana (council) of other citizens who were all considered equals (sadri'sah sarve). Svarājya government prevailed among Nichyas & Apachyas of W. India
Svarājya government prevailed all over N. India earlier during the time of Yajurveda. This means that a democratic form of government with a Constitution based on equality of all citizens, regardless of creed was invented & practiced by Indians centuries before the Greeks.

Vijayanagar (1336–1646 AD) was one of the greatest Hindu empires of India. When N.India was enslaved by Islamic savagery, Vijayanagar followed Hindu tradition to empower women with education, property rights, & financial/administrative control.

Inscriptions, historical texts & foreign traveler's accounts describe the women of Vijayanagar as possessing property & financial independence. Many donated property to worthy causes such as temple improvements, civil works & welfare schemes. Others volunteered their services.

Women were educated from a young age to become literate in Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, etc.. The great king Krishnadevaraya himself patronized several female writers and poets & encouraged centers of learning. Women authors wrote timeless Kavyas & literature during this era

Amazingly, in his Aṣṭādhyāyī, Pāṇini (5th c. BCE) describes the use of "Parpa" as a wheelchair for disabled person. A person using a Parpa was called a Parpika. It is also referred to as a pitha-sarpi in the Vajasaneya Samhita of the Athravaveda & the Jatakas.
Described as a chair with a rectangular seat frame & standing on two wheels, a pillow was placed on the seat. Often the seat frame was decorated with accessories such as beads. This shows that differently abled people were respected & accommodated in ancient Hindu society

This marble Murti of Lord Brahma was broken in 8 pieces, torso removed, desecrated & plundered by Mahmud of Ghazni from a Hindu temple he destroyed. It was discovered by the Italian Archaeological Mission in 1957 while excavating the ruins of Ghazni’s palace in Afghanistan.
2
The face was completely worn away - destroyed by thousands of feet stepping on it to mark Islamic supremacy over Hinduism. Following Islamic tradition, Mahmud had buried it under a doorway, so Muslims would constantly step on it as an act of ultimate humiliation for Hindus.
3
Countless plundered Hindu artifacts like this Murti were abducted by Ghazni to be trampled upon. The Italian team stated that the find represented “an un-hoped for & stimulating evidence of trophies brought to Ghazni from India, following the triumphs of the Ghaznavids.”
