The fact that we have people in our midst that believe there's "nothing to be outraged" by sanctions is outrageous. On moral grounds alone, what right does the US, a country that goes around the globe bombing others, killing/displacing millions, stealing trillions, have?

Plenty has been said about how #sanctionskill - directly and indirectly - no matter how "benign" the language & "targeted" the clauses are. This is said by the people on the ground & the voices/analysts/experts that mainstream media loves to ignore. Again, plenty and fact-based.

So let's just talk on moral grounds. The US of chaos & wars, of economic/political bullies & special interest groups, of homelessness & no health care, of marginalized Black/Brown people, etc etc, has no moral grounds to *suffocate* the victims of its own killing machine, TPLF.

Dear Ethiopians, please remember, we've been through this before & just as you (& us) are fighting #HR6600 now, we (alone) fought an even bigger set of lies, #HR1907. TPLF, in coordination with its friends (still active today), are repeating history. We must keep saying #NoMore!

Our respective countries may have challenges, & we may not agree w/every policy decision made by our respective govts. But that's not the point. The West could care less about our future, & stands on absolutely no moral grounds to "punish" anyone. Our issues are OURS to solve!

Not to mention that our issues are more like symptoms - the actual ISSUE is decades of misguided/deliberate Western policies that kept us away from enjoying peace, away from focusing on development, pitting one group against another, manufacturing consent for more issues!!

Imagine the countries of the HOA, starting at 1991, trading/cooperating on all fronts, no econ/pol backstabbing, no "border" wars to appease hawks, no planted anchors. Only stability, peace, development. Where would we be now? Would the issues (symptoms!) we have today exist? No.

Yes indeed - we, the people of this incredibly rich (potash to salt to water to you name it!) & strategic region, need to be held hostage. We need to be kept in a hamster wheel of manufactured issues so that we don't have the time to focus on what matters: development!
