Among the items found in the #Coutts seizure is a vest emblazoned with the INFIDEL patch. It says much about where these guys are coming from. edmontonjournal.com/opinion/column…
2/6. I tweeted before on how the INFIDEL patch is an Islamophobic symbol that first became a fashion statement in the US military.
I confirmed this with Chris Rodda of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation in DC.
She said it's part of the military's "crusader subculture."
3/6. The patch is very popular among Islamophobic, far-right groups.
As I note in the piece, some from the Wolves of Odin wore it to the Al Rashid Mosque in Edmonton when they were trying to intimidate Muslims.
4/6. Anyway, the patch was just part of the US military's extensive Islamophobia in the years after 9/11.
This included so many things, including courses telling service members to wage "total war" against Muslims.
"Failure by leaders to challenge white supremacist or Islamophobic elements in any mvmt emboldens hateful actors to grow. This is the tough but obvious conclusion that our leaders, divided along partisan lines, refuse to admit." #couttsblockade#freedomconvoy

1/4. Social media searches of those arrested at #couttsblockade reveals a lot about motives and ideology.
One arrested is Jaclyn Martin. A FB page with that name features videos from Coutts, like one of cops moving in.
Chances of this being another Jaclyn Martin is thin.
2/4. Tellingly, she posted a vid of extreme right, race war preacher Jeremy Mackenzie, "Raging Dissident," who's been banned multiple times on YouTube, among other platforms.
In one clip, MacKenzie says BJ Dichter & convoy leaders are too close to Conservative Party, too soft.
3/4. Like Sovereign Citizens who see law as an imposition unless consented to, there's a lot of Jan 6 vibes.
