Here we go. Late Friday update on #Ukraine from President Biden.
Biden is saying Russian media is making phony fabrications of genocide in Ukraine. ”To set up a false justification to act against Ukraine”- he says Ukrainian troops are showing great restraint after being baited by Russia. He says an attack could come any day.
He says Russia can still avoid war through diplomacy. He cites a meeting next week between Secretary of State Blinken and Lavrov unless Russia attacks before that. “Russia has a choice between war and all the suffering it will bring, or diplomacy.”
President Biden was asked if he thought Putin has made up his mind yet about war. And Biden says yes, he thinks Putin has made up his mind. He also adds in response to another question that he is convinced Putin will not use nuclear weapons. Putin is watching a nuke exercise.

“Because Ms. James’s investigation is civil, she cannot file criminal charges. But she could sue Mr. Trump and his company to seek financial penalties, and could try to shut down certain aspects of Mr. Trump’s business in New York.”
One of the things being looked at is this: Trump’s long-serving chief financial officer, Allen H. Weisselberg, later acknowledged to investigators that the company had overvalued the apartment by “give or take” $200 million.

As soon as Putin is done making deals with Xi at the Olympics, he will apparently invade Ukraine. According to US Intel, 50-thosuand civilians could die.

Outstanding enterprising long take by Jane Mayer. She cites Ginni Thomas’s role as chair of weekly meetings of “Groundswell” where Ali Alexander was a participant. It’s a secret, by invitation only group waging “a 30 front war seeking to transform the nation.”
Ginni also co-hosted a “Remember the Ladies” Banquet, part of symposium in 2010 that featured Stewart Rhodes as a speaker. Rhodes pleaded not guilty to storming the Capitol on 1/6. She is involved in so many groups connected to cases coming before SCOTUS, it’s hard to keep track.
