SEFF remembers Patrick Molloy, 46, RC DoE employee & farmer from Allistragh, Co. Armagh, married with 5 kids & Jack Wylie, 49, Protestant dealer from Kilmore, Armagh & a member of the Diamond Memorial Orange Lodge, murdered by UVF at the RC-owned Traynor's pub on 19/2/74.
When.. ImageImage
..the bomb exploded the only people in the bar were the owner & 3 customers.
Patrick said to the owner, who'd been standing only a few feet away: "Some of your children must have put something on the fire for I smell burning". He'd been going to investigate when the bomb went ..
..off. He was buried under rubble but was dragged from under the debris suffering from shock & a facial cuts. He said: "I smelled the burning too. Just then there was a bang & the bar came in around me". The 3rd customer received a shoulder injury. The bomb (50lbs of explosive)..
..was left at the doorway in a metal container with its fuse lit.
A call made to the BBC claimed the UFF was responsible. In '81, a self-confessed UVF member was sentenced for life.

SEFF’s thoughts & prayers are with all innocents impacted by these brutal senseless murders.

We try to encourage the Protestant/Unionist section of the community to look at GAA in its’ widest context & what it means for many people, ie sport & identity - but events like today don’t help.

Clancy, Coney & Campbell weren't heroes or martyrs but part of an insurrectionist.. ImageImage
..movement; the objective being the overthrow of the NI state & which included the murder of neighbours.
These men may have played Gaelic Games but that's not the issue. They are being remembered by their Gaelic club (Clonoe O’Rahilly’s) for their identity as members of PIRA ....
..hence the language ‘Vol’ & ‘Fallen Gaels.’
Once again sport & politics has become entangled. What message is being sent out to today’s generation? Do the GAA leadership condone wilful misuse of their Games for this political purpose?
The presence of Michelle O’Neill at the ...

An assistant kneeling behind the counter ...
..escaped injury.

Andrew was a community worker for the Elim Pentecostal Church. He was an only son & had given up a job as a motor mechanic to assume a job in a jewellery shop.

Andrew was murdered by the IPLO who said it "would not stand by & see nationalists gunned down ..
..in the street".

The IPLO also made numerous unsubstantiated allegations regarding the video shop. The inquest was told that Andrew had been shot several times in the chest. His mother said that she had begged Andrew, to give up his part-time job at the shop because there ...

At his funeral, Rev. McCaughey condemned the HMG's security policy & claimed it had stood by while young men were being "gunned ...

Coverage re planned apology for HIA victims & European Victims Day.

It's absolutely appropriate that the victims of institutionalised abuse are apologised to, innocent victims of terrorism very much relate to their deep sense of injustice & lack of ....
..formal acknowledgement. We hope & pray that a formal acknowledgement will go some way in validating their lived experiences; experiences of abuse & the consequential trauma experienced.

Understandably some have pointed to 11/3 being European Day of Remembrance for Victims of..
..Terrorism &, in the past, some have sought to play politics with this date, denying victims of terrorism the right to be acknowledged, & for Parliament Buildings to be illuminated.

We challenge political parties to step up to the plate, recognise your responsibilities to ....
