Noted economist @robshapiro out w/a new analysis in @monthly showing that even after inflation Americans were better off in 2021.

The Council of Economy Advisors released a report yesterday with new data showing that real wages were up for all Americans, and as Rob writes in his piece, the biggest gains were in the bottom 50%. 2/

Why we've been arguing that Dems need to be selling the success of Biden's plan, and talking far less about inflation/lowering costs.

Our fear is that by leading w/lowering costs we end up raising/validating central GOP attack against us.

Our basic argument is that as an incumbent party we will be graded on whether things are better.

And the good news for Dems is that things are better - we are getting to the other side of COVID, the economy boomed.

Now we have to go sell it.

Come to understand what a monster Putin is, be angry at his enablers here in the US, recognize the enormity of their betrayal.
Russia has attacked our country too. That attack was covered up, memory holed by Trump and his MAGA followers.

Dems simply must prioritize moving major climate legislation as part of its effort to counter Russia now.

Malevolence of petro-dictators is there for all to see. It is another powerful reason to race towards decarbonization.

Most of the world is turning against Putin, and for good reason.

This speech is a must listen, and it helps remind Americans of the stakes in Ukraine.

Now might be a good time to release detailed information about holdings of Russian oligarchs, so they can see what is at stake with Putin's aggression.

Here is a thread I did yesterday.

The bottom line - Democrats simply must make selling their economic achievements over decades a far higher priority in the months ahead. The data is just brutal for Republicans. 2/

The foundational stats:

Of the 42m jobs created since 1989, 40m - 95% - have been created under Dem Presidents.

3 times more jobs created under Biden than in last 3 GOP Presidents *combined *

Rs averaged 10k new jobs/month over 16 years! 3/

This new @NavigatorSurvey research is a bit of a must read, and suggests Democrats can take the GOP's current advantage on the economy away from them. 1/
Look at the movement when voters were exposed to the arguments that the economy is in fact better, things are improving, Dems have done a good job.

In our business this is fairly dramatic movement. 2/
This year we will be graded on whether we made things better. We have. Things are better. And we be loud and proud about it. Biden has done a good job. COVID's been a formidable adversary. But we are getting there, together.
