I have an update on the civil lawsuit against #Compton Councilmember Isaac Galvan. Quick recap, Galvan and five other people were charged with conspiring to commit election fraud during the June 2021 runoff to ensure Galvan would retain his seat.
He won the election by 1 vote.

While the criminal case is going on, his opponent Andre Spicer took Galvan to civil court to overturn the election because even after Galvan was charged he was actually sworn into office and is serving as a councilmemer.

Well, the judge just gave Spicer the green light, and the trial is set to commence on March 1. There's a chance Galvan could get a continuance but the judge said no more than a 10-day delay. 
So either way, it's going down in March and if Spicer prevails, the judge can overturn the election and appointment Spicer as the councilmember. Spicer is being represented by elections law atty Fred Woocher. Galvan is represented by atty and former Carson Mayor Albert Robles.
