Oh boy, folks! This person surely did not know what they were getting into when they had me prove that infanticide "does happen." Well, buckle up for this thread, @imagnoreligion!
@imagnoreligion First of all, there's @JillStanek, who acted as a whistleblower to expose Christ Hospital, where not only were babies being delivered and then purposefully left to die of exposure in a linen closet. THAT was their late-term abortion method, actually.
The Born Alive Infants Protection Act is law, but is just symbolic. There's no teeth to it. @BenSasse introduced Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act to add that enforcement, but pro-infanticide Dems blocked it. @SpeakerPelosi won't even let it come to the floor.
Babies can be aborted up until birth, and are sometimes born alive when aborted late enough. We may never know how often it happens. There is still some eyewitness accounts, though, such as staffers who worked for Douglas Karpen.
Even abortion industry/allies admit it. From Planned Parenthood lobbying efforts in 2013, to then Gov. @RalphNortham's comments in 2019, to findings of a @LiveAction investigation released in 2013.
There's data as well that babies are born alive after abortions.
CDC found 143 babies were born alive and then died btwn 2003-2014. The CDC itself admits "it is possible that this number... underestimates the total number of deaths..."
.@CaroleNovielli does the most extensive research you could ever ask for, in her articles for @LiveActionNews, a project of @LiveAction. Here's one article that has PLENTY of links/charts/dates about babies born alive in just 5 states in recent years.
.@SarahTerzo, another @LiveActionNews contributor, has a website called 'Clinic Quotes,' where she also has an entire section called "Born alive after an Abortion."
A lot of these babies are either left to die from exposure or actively killed.
.@SarahTerzo wrote another article for @LiveActionNews, in 2019. Babies born alive in NC were drowned in saline. @RoyCooperNC, a pro-abortion Democrat not only vetoed born-alive legislation, but he also bullied Democrats into not overriding his veto.
During this press conference, @SenSchumer made one of the most stomach churning claims I’ve heard about abortion. He claimed that pro-laws “largely fly in the face of public opinion, common sense, and frankly, common decency.”
Pro-life laws regulating and/or restricting abortion are NOT, for most part, against public opinion. The most recent @maristpoll/@KofC poll released last month shows that 71% of Americans want aborted restricted. kofc.org/en/resources/c…
It’s particularly worth highlighting late-term abortion, as #WHPA would’ve legalized abortion until birth, making @SenSchumer’s comments particularly appalling. Here’s link of former abortionist explaining late-term induction method in @LiveAction project. abortionprocedures.com/induction/
