Starting a YouTube channel was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Let me convince you to do the same... A THREAD 😛
Being a YouTuber comes with so many upsides that outweigh any disadvantages of the gig. You get to:
🧑🎨 Tap into the creator economy
🤝 Meet amazing people offline
👥 Build a community of like-minded people
Plus...
💰 Get paid to do the things you genuinely enjoy
📱 Review and get products and services for free
🎟 Collaborate with brands and different creators
Like anything, there are some downsides and hurdles that you’ll have to push through, but making videos in your spare time is mostly good vibes :)
If you’re just starting out or want to give YouTube a go, here are a few things to remember:
🗣 Never worry about other people’s opinions
At first, you might be scared of what your friends, family, and (the worst) strangers online are going to say.
1) It doesn’t matter 2) Believing in your own content is enough.
🎥 Gear doesn’t matter - start with what you have
When I first decided to launch my YouTube channel all I had was my iPhone. My good pal Elizabeth (@lizziefilips) did the same and grew her channel to 1,000 subs with only an iPhone camera.
Focus on producing the content library and try to improve along the way. Over time you can get better as you focus on things like lighting and audio, but, for the first year or so, just focus on posting :)
@lizziefilips The next thing you want to do is build a system to make sure you can stay consistent over the long run.
This will help you to achieve your YouTube dreams and this is one of the main spiels in The Part-Time YouTuber Academy ✨

Over the past 4 years of making videos on YouTube, I’ve figured out loads of ways of generating new video ideas and a system to manage them.
One of them I like to call the ABC(s) of idea generation 👇
1. A → Ask Your Audience 🙋
Everyone has an audience, even if you’re just starting. If you’ve got social media followers it’s easier but even if you don’t you can still ask friends, family etc
This is a super-easy way to generate a handful of ideas and get your creative juices flowing.
