Our Constitution has many defects, the worst of them being how very undemocratic its amplification of small states is. For that reason, the method of reforming or replacing the US constitution guarantees that a Constitutional Convention would only make things worse.
Each state sends an equal number of people to the ConCon and Republicans control most state assemblies that would be choosing the representatives. We would lose many constitutional protections and gain theorcraccy.
Now Koch has been funding efforts to get a ConCon for years because he wants to get rid of environmental regulations so he wants to attack the commerce clause. The six on the Court that will eviscerate abortion rights are there to eviscerate the commerce clause, too.
One way you KNOW Cenk Uyger is a chaos agent is his pushing for ConCon. There is no way a constitutional convention with people chosen by today's state legislatures would come out with something we want.

Notice how the headline blames the judge. The judge is wrong to accept the deal, but judges usually accept deals. The deal was made by prosecutors.
This is a recurring mistake made by the media probably because prosecutors do press releases and judges don't. They take the release at face value and don't pay attention to how the prosecutors shift blame to the judge.
It's true that racism plays a role in the world's overwhelming response to Ukraine's plight while disregarding Yemen, the Rohingya, and umpteen other catastrophes around the world. Absolutely.
But there is also more to it.
After WW2, there was hope that we were done with European wars. Of course, there were the Balkan Wars, but they were in a way, civil wars. Intra-familial disputes about the division of Yugoslavia. And of course, they ended up a proxy Russo-Euro conflict in the end.
I think, though, that this is more a result of antipathy to Putin occasioned by his relentless interference with Western democracies. His pushing for Brexit, support for LePen and other authoritarians across Europe. His love of Trump in the US
I do not believe the women did not know about Jennie's FB posts regarding George Floyd. Meredith tracked who liked what tweet on social media and hired a detective. When those women fight so much about social media likes and retweets, don't tell me they didn't read posts.
This means Mary had every reason in the world to be hostile to Jennie. Her hostility is not inexplicable & it's some vicious gaslighting for these women to pretend otherwise. At the very least, Meredith, the social media inspector, knew. She is not the type to keep it to herself
Lisa Barlow is not my favorite person but she's getting a bad rap on the questioning the memorial thing. It's clear when she made the call to Meredith from the bus, she thought she was calling her at the memorial. She apologized for it.
It may be frivolous to rant about #RHOSLC when the world is going to hell in a handbasket, but here goes...
Yes, Mary has no time at all for Jennie. She has been rude to her and said several bigoted things right to her face, but...
don't you think she read Jennie's FB posts?
Meredith Marks has made Jen liking certain comments about her son into a two-season storyline, yet says she has never read Jennie's Facebook posts?
She hired a detective to investigate her colleagues but never read Jennie's posts?
Liar
Heather and Whitney parse every act and every word people do and say for signifiers. Listening to them is like listening to grad students applying Derrida to "Practical Cats."
When you consider the Portland media environment, it is amazing the city is as liberal/progressive as it is. The Oregonian is now owned by out-of-state rightwingers who have laid off most staff and offer a 4/times a week tabloid. It's a joke. But when it was a real daily, it was
fiercely right-wing and Catholic. Bill Clinton was the first Democrat they ever endorsed for pres in over 100 years. They refused to run ads for condoms, even after HIV transmission was understood
They knew about Packwood and still endorsed him and kept the scandal secret until AFTER the election. They knew about Roger Meier investing public money for a hostile takeover of a Meier & Frank competitor. They his this for well over a year - it came out in WSJ & NYT.
A woman was killed and 4 other people were shot in a shooting in NE Portland on the 18th. This is the official police statement. The only true thing is the date and location.
Why did the police use the word homeowner? Is it to invoke castle doctrine and stand your ground rationales for shooting UNARMED traffic monitors? Stand Your Ground is responsible for an 11% increase in homicides. Do the Portland Police support it? jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…
The Portland Police like to blame the increase in gun violence on protests, but gun violence is increasing nationwide - and seems to be linked more to braggadocious vigilantism. More wannabe Rittenhouses.
