Poor Indian students spent 30 plus hours in heavy snowfall without food & water, no shelter and no help from Indian Govt/embassy.

They were asked to clean toilets when the embassy finally evacuated and Indians on Twitter demanded why can’t they clean toilets

If you’re one of many who believe it’s Modi government bearing the cost of evacuation of these students then be enlightened UPA government had set up ICWF (Indian Community Welfare Fund) under MEA in 2009 with the sole purpose of helping distressed Indians overseas to bring home

Modi government officially revealed in an affidavit that ICWF funds were utilised to rescue students stranded in Ukraine.
The affidavit was in response to a petition filed by Kerala High Court Advocates Association and parents of a second year medical student at

VN Karazin National University in Kharkiv seeking directions to government about repatriation of students.
The petitioners contended that students had to bear extraordinary costs and risks of travelling in war zone beside waiting on extreme freezing conditions at border because

of lack of presence of Indian Embassy officials at borders.
