The Israeli govt is settling Jewish Ukrainian refugees on land it illegally occupies and prevents 7 million Palestinian refugees from returning to.
Refugees have the right to sanctuary — AND the right to return home.
Pitting refugees against each other is not justice.

Many JVP members or our ancestors were refugees ourselves, fleeing war, persecution, or genocide (including in Ukraine).
But we came to view Zionism — Jewish settlement in Palestine requiring forced displacement of natives — as a misguided and harmful approach to Jewish safety.
As with many previous waves of European Jewish refugees who escaped to Palestine since Zionism began, Jewish Ukrainians will leave downtrodden and dispossessed but arrive as settlers, with the privileges given to the dominant demographic in a settler-colonial apartheid state.
The Israeli government is offering Jewish Ukrainians not just sanctuary, but citizenship with full rights — rights to land, resources, and self-determination that Israel denies to Palestinians living on occupied land or as refugees in diaspora.
Israel is giving Jewish Ukrainians citizenship not out of kindness and generosity, but rather to cement a Jewish demographic majority in Palestine — specifically in illegal settlements in the Jordan Valley and Naqab, where Palestinians are facing active, ongoing ethnic cleansing.
And while the World Zionist Organization builds 1,000 housing units for Jewish Ukrainians on these sites of active ethnic cleansing, the Israeli government said the influx of non-Jewish Ukrainians "cannot go on" and charged a ~$3,000 fee to Israelis wanting to host them.
Ukrainians of all faiths are in real, dire need of refuge, but Israel is only eager to take in the Jewish ones to further the Zionist project — to expand "borders," to cement Jewish supremacy under apartheid, to displace Palestinians and deny their return.
We are devastated by the suffering of Ukrainian refugees — Jewish and non-Jewish — and we fight for their sanctuary.
But we see no just future if their safety means another people are also under military occupation, being ethnically cleansed and made into refugees themselves.
We are devastated by the suffering of Palestinian refugees — from 1948 to the present — and we fight for their right to return to their homes.
We also demand the end of the ongoing Nakba that turns still more Palestinians into refugees everyday.

Some bombing images purported to be from Ukraine are actually from Palestine.
If these images are moving us to action and sympathy for Ukraine — and provoking the US to impose aggressive sanctions on Russia — they should do the same for Palestine and Israel, respectively.
While Israeli violence in Gaza is directly funded by the US government to the tune of $3.8 billion per year, the US refuses to withdraw this funding and impose the kind of sanctions it has so readily vowed to impose on Russia.
Sheikh Jarrah needs your solidarity NOW just as much as May 2021 when millions of us took to our streets and keyboards to support Palestinians defending their homes against Israeli ethnic cleansing.
Listen to Muna El-Kurd’s call to amplify their struggle #SaveSheikhJarrah
As we speak, hundreds of settlers are descending on Sheikh Jarrah for the 6th night in a row in a violent campaign to remove the Salem family from their home, with the assistance of Israeli forces. This is what we were resisting last May — exactly what we were trying to prevent.
The Israeli government and settlers are counting on us to look away, to burn out, to let our attention and dedication to solidarity falter. They saw — and were threatened by — the impact of our posts and protests, and they are hoping that we won’t bring that energy now.
The use and sale of cyber weapons are central to Israel's external and internal functioning and this web of connection illuminates how deeply implicated other nations are in propping up Israel's oppressive regime.
Participate in consumer boycott campaigns, which are a simple, effective way for people around the world to pressure companies with a clear and direct role in Israeli violence against Palestinians.
This is a crisis moment. We have been watching the ongoing Nakba unfold in Sheikh Jarrah, for months, for years, for decades and now as ever, we need to be listening and be led by Palestinian voices and uplift their resistance.
Yesterday was chilling and triggering. We send love and healing to the congregation of Beth Israel, and to all Jews and people everywhere scarred and wounded by this violence. Healing takes care and community. Here are some resources for ourselves and our loved ones:
As we recover, we recommit to dismantling antisemitism in all its forms. And we recommit to resisting any version of safety reliant on Islamophobia or the presence of police. Freedom and safety for any of us relies on freedom and safety for all.
We recommit to opposing all forms of anti-Muslim bigotry and hatred, and stand guard against those who use Islamophobia to divide our communities.
