A few lessons that we can learn from recent Indian state elections:
i) Social programs pay electoral dividends, especially in the hard times since the Corona outbreak.
ii) You need media management
iii) Strong organization at the local level is a force multiplier
1/n
iv) Nationalistic(or in their case even religious) bravado has its buyers.
Of these PTI has the first one covered. Just the Sehat Card & Ehsas program should win PTI a lot of votes.
But these need to be marketed properly and for that, you need excellent media management.
2/n
I think no one can deny that PTI has bungled this one
Whether the intention of reducing government ads was to avoid wasteful usage of exchequer or just to teach media a lesson, it would not matter in the end as the majority of the media has aligned itself with the opposition
3/n
From what we are hearing on SM, both BJP & AAP had an extensive presence on the ground. They were able to get their voters out of the house & into the polling station.
Whether the "Tiger Force" would be able to do the same, remains to be seen.
4/n
Lastly, while I personally don't buy into "Jo kara reya Amreeka kara reya" narrative. But the recent posturing by IK of standing up to the west will have a lot of buyers among Pakistanis.
And the stupid statements by people like Hamza Shahbaz will only help PTI's cause.
5/n
All in all, the people who think PTI stands no chance in the next elections, might be up for a rude awakening.
Just a bit of projection of a better image in the media, proper marketing of PTI's social programs & some proper organization should be enough.

On 17 Sep 2001, Gen. Mahmood the then ISI chief flew to Kandahar to persuade the Taliban to accept US demands.
These included handing over or expulsion of OBL & Al-Qaida leadership.
Dismantling their infrastructure & not allowing Afghan soil to be used for harboring terrorism
He met Mullah Omar at his residence in Kandahar, who said that he can not hand over OBL to a non-muslim, this Mahmood being a Muslim should understand
Mahmood asked him if he concurs that there is no bigger farz for a Muslim than Salah? It's an obligation even on one's death bed
Mullah Omar agreed
Then what if you see a snake coming towards you while you're offering your Salah, would you continue the farz or protect yourself from the snake first?
Mullah Omar thought for a moment and replied he will first get rid of the snake and then continue his Salah
Life has been a mess, so I've decided I need role models to bring it back on track.
#1 Sir Naeem Ul Haque: Just like me, he has achieved absolutely nothing in his life on his own, yet he carries himself as if he's doing us all a favor by his mere existence in this mortal world
#2 This Cop: When I was 18 I had this huge crush on a girl. Was never able to say anything but did this same thing with my eyes. Now whenever I remember it I start cursing myself for being an idiot. After watching this guy I am going to stalk her again n not feel bad about it 🥺
#3 This Khalai Khota: I can't remember just how many times I have deleted a tweet just before tweeting it, thinking it was stupid. Then there is this guy, who was an ex minister and yet tweets the cheapest and stupidest shi* that there is with confidence of a god. I like that.
