Genuine offer: If your school is anywhere near the top two-thirds of this blue line and you would like a free Magic of Maths show (or possibly even two) next Wednesday (16th), I'll do it in exchange for a B+B and some petrol money. Here's why. 1/4
I live in Brighton, but am working in Ryarsh on Tuesday and then Norwich on Thursday. Although Thursday's client is paying for a hotel in Norwich on Wednesday evening, neither is paying any petrol expenses. The train is not an option due to the amount of equipment I need. 2/4
With current petrol costs, the fuel and time expense of driving back home on Tuesday evening and then right back up to Norwich on Wednesday ready for Thursday's CPD are ridiculous.
So I am trying to break the journey, and avoid retracing my steps. 3/4
I have a few different talks or shows I could offer; here are the details of the most-requested one: andrewjeffrey.co.uk/faq/
If you think this might be of interest, please let me know. I might be able to do something in the morning and something else in the evening.
Just to clarify, following a private message I received this morning: I very carefully didn't say that either client had 'refused' to pay travel costs. They had previously asked if I would be prepared to waive the travel, as they only had a set budget and I agreed. 1/2
In hindsight I should have made that clear. So my sincere apologies if my tweet implied that my issue is with the clients; it was simply a genuine attempt to make this trip greener, more viable and offer something back as well. 2/2

This evening I was sexually assaulted. I’m slightly in shock. I am still processing it, but I am already at the stage where I REALLY want all my male friends to read this carefully. I've had a tricky week but this was extraordinary.

I’m standing at the bar waiting to be served, a (male) stranger walks past, squeezes my backside & says ‘nice buns’. I am a bit stunned. The best I could manage on the spot was to turn round and say “Excuse me?” in my best teacher voice. “Nice Buns” was the repeated reply.

“They’re my buns, not yours” I said. Not great, I know, but still too shocked to come up with anything better.
He leaves the pub. I assumed (wrongly) that he had gone for good. Turns out he was just going out for a smoke. But the interesting thing is that I didn’t follow.
