Thread on How to build a Trading Multi Monitor Setup with specifications🧵

1) How to build a multi monitor with details & exact specifications to help fellow traders !

@prathamesh_pai from the team did all the research to strike a balance btwn price & performance

#trading
2) Monitors :

Dell 27 inch 2721HN

BenQ 27 inch GW2780

Vertical Monitor Dell P2722H

We are using 10 monitors & 1 vertical monitor with 1080 p resolution

Purpose of the monitors is to help scan multiple charts, momentum stocks, news and give a bird eye view of the market.
3) Mother Board:

Aorus Elite z690

The motherboard is the backbone that ties the computer's components together at one spot and allows them to talk to each other.

This allows GPU,processor, RAM and other hardware component to interact seamlessly
4) Processor

CPU Processor i7 12th gen 12700K

This is the brain of the computer. A powerful processor provides higher computing power.

We need computing power for backtesting multiple strategies & fetch 1 min data by API.
5) RAM

RAM 16 GB*2 3600 MHz by Corsair Vengenance DDR4

RAM stores the information your computer is actively using so that it can be accessed quickly.

The more programs your system is running, the more memory(RAM) you'll need.
6) Powersupply unit

750 W Gold 80+ by Deepcool

This powers the entire computer.

7) Liquid Cooler

Deepcool L 240 T

This maintains the optimum temperature & let systems run efficiently.

A liquid cooler is more efficient than a fan cooler.
8) Graphic Card

Graphic Card Nvidia T600 4GB * 2

Each graphic has 4 display outputs.

A graphics card is an expansion card for your PC that is responsible for rendering images to the display.

For trading purposes a medium level graphic card is sufficient
9) Memory

Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe 1 TB

Used to save daily market related files & data.
10) Cabinet

Cabinet Galax Rev05

Used to assemble all the hardware in a single box & use it as a single unit.

This provides good ventilation & has 4 fans.

Also gives a look good & feel
11) Keyboard & Mouse

We have used a simple wirless optical keyboard & mouse

Dell KM5221W

Helps toggling between multiple monitors & for trade execution
12) Costing

Total setup with cost around 2.5 per lakh

We have total 2 setups. So costed us around 5 lakh.

Cost will depend on what specifications you need. You can compromise on things you don’t need to lower the budget.

Trading isn’t about luck. It’s about discipline, risk management, and repeatable setups. Here’s what every trader should know 🧵 Image
1) Trading is a skill, not a gamble
Success comes from strategies you can repeat, not from guessing market moves.
Control what you can do with your entries, exits, and risk.
2) Mindset is everything
Most traders fail due to emotions, not setups.
Stick to your plan
Journal every trade: why you entered, what went right/wrong, how you felt

Warren Buffett nearly went bankrupt in 1962
His biggest bet was burning $4M a month. Bankruptcy was weeks away
Then a man named Harry Bottle saved his career in 6 days
The untold story of Buffett’s riskiest investment  🧵Image
1) Young Buffett thought he struck gold
He bet big on Dempster Mill, a struggling windmill manufacturer
Stock price: $18/share
Book value: $72/share
A 75% discount is the perfect Ben Graham-style bargain
By 1961, he owned 70% of the company Image
2) But the numbers were lying
Dempster made up 21% of Buffett’s fund
Cash: $166K
Debt: $2.3M
$4M of inventory sat rotting in warehouses some of it since 1909
Bankruptcy was weeks away. Buffett was trapped Image

Trading in the Zone – Mark Douglas
Most traders lose not because of bad strategies… but because of bad mindsets.
Mark Douglas explains why trading psychology is the real edge.
Here’s the full breakdown 🧵 Image
1)The Core Idea

Trading isn’t about predicting the market.
It’s about learning to:
- Think in probabilities
- Control your emotions
- Execute with discipline
Success = consistency, not prediction.
2) Why Traders Fail

Douglas says most traders fall into 3 traps:
- Need to be right → They can’t accept losses.
- Random reinforcement → A few lucky wins create overconfidence.
- Emotional trading → Fear, greed, and hope drive decisions.
Result: they sabotage themselves, even with good strategies.
