A public school in San Antonio segregated fifth-grade students by hair color, subjected them to harassment and abuse, and showed them graphic photos of murdered black children—all as part of a twisted "antiracism" lesson.

Here's the story. 🧵
As NBC-San Antonio first reported, teachers at Leon Springs Elementary School separated students into oppressor and oppressed categories based on hair color. Teachers told the dark-haired kids they were "privileged" and told the fair-haired kids they were "not as intelligent."
Then the teachers gave the fair-haired students a game with pieces missing so they could not play, suggesting that they deserved mistreatment. After the game was over, the teachers forced the fair-haired children to clean up after the "privileged" children.
As part of this lesson, the teachers also showed clips from the Spike Lee documentary, "4 Little Girls," about the Alabama church bombings, which included graphic autopsy photos of the dead children—which is completely inappropriate to show to a group of 10-year-olds.
The intention of the lesson was to expose "inequity" and make the fifth-grade children feel the pain of "segregation." But the exercise went haywire: students began crying and told their parents that the teachers were segregating and psychologically abusing them.
Families were furious with the district. After the backlash, district administrators said that they "recognize the parent's concerns and agree that the activity and video are not age-appropriate and will not be used again."

Sadly, this kind of practice is becoming more common in American public schools. Here's my essay from earlier this year about "segregation in the name of social justice": christopherrufo.com/the-ghost-of-j…

Beto O'Rourke becomes the first prominent Democrat to flip against critical race theory.

"I don't think [CRT] should be taught in our schools."
Beto is a shameless flip-flopper, but the lesson is clear: critical race theory is toxic with voters and the Democrats' polling on culture war issues has collapsed. Conservatives must go on offense. Make the opposition defend CRT and bash them through the midterms.
Beto has given Republicans a gift. They can now say "even Beto O'Rourke says critical race theory shouldn't be taught in schools."

These women are running a "Sexy Summer Camp" for children in rural Kentucky, with lessons on "sex liberation," "gender exploration," "BDSM," "being a sex worker," "self-managed abortions," and "sexual activity while using licit and illicit drugs." ImageImageImageImage
Here's the agenda for the camp. I'll be doing a more extensive report in the coming weeks. ImageImage
The leader of Sexy Summer Camp recommends that children begin to masturbate as toddlers.

"Masturbation is really healthy and I recommend it to people of all ages. All ages. As soon as my nephews could talk, they were doing that."

Critical race theory founder Kimberlé Crenshaw admits that the anti-CRT movement is winning the language war. "When we're caught in a 'is it CRT or not CRT' [debate], they win. That's the whole point."
Crenshaw fears that critical race theory will meet the same fate as the left-wing activist organization ACORN, which conservatives successfully destroyed in 2009.

"You can run from the name. That's not what they're after. They're after the substance."
Crenshaw is right: we are winning the language war, we are going after the substance, and, with any luck, we will abolish critical race theory from America's public institutions. ⚔️

UC Berkeley education professor Zeus Leonardo: "To abolish whiteness is to abolish white people. That's very uncomfortable perhaps, but it asks about our definitions of what race is and what racial justice might mean."

This is what teachers are learning.
This kind of language—abolishing an entire race of people—should be stigmatized, not subsidized by taxpayers. The public university system has been corrupted by ideologues who pursue far-left activism, not genuine knowledge. We need deep structural reforms to turn it around.
And yes, this is absolutely critical race theory. Image

"What Rufo has been cleverly doing is cherry-picking the worst examples that he can find of lessons in classrooms or training materials for teachers and saying, 'that is CRT' ... And the thing is—it fucking worked."

Even my enemies can't help but give me the W.
John Oliver spent 28 minutes hyperventilating about the anti-CRT movement, repeating the dumbest tropes, like "CRT is graduate-level legal theory" and never taught in K-12 schools. But he's doing us an unintentional favor: the more the public learns about CRT, the more we win.
According to Democratic Party pollsters, 61 percent of swing district voters agree with the statement: "Democrats are teaching kids as young as five Critical Race Theory, which teaches that America is a racist country and that white people are racist."
