Voters turned out in record numbers in 2020. In response, GA Republicans passed one of the worst anti-voter bills in the country. Now they're doubling down—trying to sabotage elections and ban donations to counties, even donations of food & water. #gapol

After Brian Kemp said that he would not support any new election bills this legislative session, Republicans are pushing #HB1464, an omnibus bill that combines many of the worst anti-voting proposals this year. #gapol

#HB1464 could devastate election administration, pave the way for a flood of sham reviews by Big Lie conspiracy theorists, and even ban donations of food and water for voters waiting in line. #gapol

This anti-voting bill has ALREADY PASSED THE GEORGIA HOUSE – and now we must fight back in the State Senate. #gapol

On top of stacking multiple new unfunded mandates onto counties, this bill could also block at least 🚨$43.3 MILLION🚨 in donations to counties to run elections, based on the amount they received in 2020. #gapol

And let’s be clear: All of the new unfunded mandates added by this bill stem from bad actors pushing the false narrative of the Big Lie following the 2020 elections. #gapol

After Georgians waited in 8 hr lines only 2 years ago, #HB1464 doubles down on tactics that limit the ability of voters to cast their ballots, restricting requirements for voting machines in polling places after SB 202 limited vote-by-mail options. #gapol motherjones.com/politics/2022/…

#HB1464 also gives the Georgia Bureau of Investigation sweeping new authority that will not help make our elections safer but risks intimidating voters and election workers. #gapol
