It’s remarkable how effective President Zelensky has been. He is the literal flipside of Trump: an ex TV performer who also understands both televised & social media, but who actually loves and is devoted to his whole country, not just to what he can siphon out of it for himself.
Zelensky is compelling because unlike the draft dodging fake populist who tried to bribe him and withhold military aid unless he’d lie to help him stay in power, he is an actual leader, who is staying put for the fight; while getting the whole world to finally face down Putin.
It’s going to be very hard for Western governments to say no to what this man is asking for. Meanwhile Russia’s economy is collapsing, and Putin, hopefully, is destined for the Hague, where he has long belonged, for what he’s done in Syria and Chechnya too.
If you’re an American who loves Trump and hates Zelensky, you’ve pretty much told us who you are. If you find Putin to be “brilliant” or “elegant” or a “great leader for his people,” or the victim in this hideous war of empire and occupation, we know exactly who and what you are.
