Chinese General of Russian heritage, Lin Hu 林虎. Frmer Deputy Commander of PLA Airforce.

He is 1st gen of PLAAF pilots trained during Chinese Civil War. He flew fighter plane over Tiananmen during the Founding Ceremony of the People’s Republic of China on Oct 1st, 1949

Lin Hu’s father is a Shandong migrant worker who went to Russia where he married his Russian mom. Couple fled to China in Russian Civil War.

Orphaned at age 4, he was adopted by Lin family frm Shandong. He fled abuse at age 11 to join Communist Army during Japanese invasion

Communist commander gave him a new name Hu 虎 meaning tiger, he became known as Lin Hu.

Lin Hu started as an orderly as the Communist Army fought guerrilla war agst IJA in mountains of Shangdong. By Japanese surrender, 18yr old Lin Hu already served 7 years.

After Sino-Soviet split, Mao ordered man made mountains build in Inner Mongolia to stop Soviet tanks advancing on Beijing

Each mountains have bunkers connected thru tunnels, host an artillery battalion.

General Su Yu concluded they're useless put a stop 2 the construction

Original plans to build man made mountains to stop Soviet came out in 1965, approved by Mao and Lin Biao.

PLA build several 10s of man-made mountains in north China at cost of 50 million RMB each.

Commander of Lanzhou Military District General Pi Dingjun 皮定均 after his inspection of man-made mountains in western Inner Mongolia, ordered stop to construction to Mount No. 8.

But some reported him for going agst Mao's orders

It’s true that Chinese society doesn’t place as much emphasis on oratory skills as does US. But there’re 1.4 billion Chinese people. Some are good at it.

Public speaking is just like another skill. Anyone can be good at it with practice

I have heard the current world system compared to Warring States Era China.

Hear me out: US is Jin because there’s no way it will stays an unitary state after losing its power

Jin State for the most of Spring and Autumn Era (770-476 BCE) was the Hegemon of the alliance of Central Plain States 诸夏 because it was the largest of the Central Plain states and occupied most productive region.

Jin led Central Plain states agst Chu, largest state in S China

Chu was the largest state and very powerful but was seen as not quite part of civilized Chinese states 诸夏.

Chu ruler declared himself King and 蛮(Man) Barbarian placing Chu outside of pale of civilized world where Son of Heaven, King of Zhou Dynasty ruled supreme (in theory)

I suspected that's NOT a Great Leap Forward photo bc cloth more pre-1949 than 1959-1963.

When I did Google image search, just get Great Leap Forward results. with top search result in Wapo and RFA articles. I realized I need to change the auto populated search terms...

My dogs found another stray kitten. She looks much healthier than other kittens that we found before. I gave her some wet cat food that I had bought before for Bacon.
