Happiness isn’t some impossibly distant destination or a state of mind reserved for the privileged.

It’s trainable and accessible to everyone, writes @drchatterjeeuk

📈The single biggest problem people have in their search for happiness is confusing it with success, writes @drchatterjeeuk

➡️Of course, it is absolutely possible to have both but is certainly not a given.
💠Write your happy ending

🧠We’re raised in a Want Brain culture that fools us into believing hard work, career achievements and material possessions will make us happy.

This is a cruel trick, designed to feed the market economy and keep it going, says @drchatterjeeuk
❌Happiness can never be found in a world of wants, because wants are never satisfied.

Instead, we should understand the things that truly make us happy: living in accordance with our values
💠 Eliminate choice

Too much choice is likely to be a massive hidden stressor in your life.

⏰By eliminating choice, creating personal rules and adding routine, you’re simplifying your life in ways that can transform both your health and your happiness.
💠 Treat yourself with respect

Having worked on self-compassion for several years, the voice I now hear in my head is exceptionally kind.

🗣️I realize my competitiveness came from a place of not feeling enough in who I was, writes @drchatterjeeuk
💠Make time stand still

Feeling constantly short of time damages core happiness and health.

⏲️But even the busiest among us can change our experience of time, making it feel as if we have more

🇺🇦Mariupol has refused to wave the white flag.

In a demonstration of astonishing, collective courage, on Monday the besieged city declined to surrender and lay down its arms.

🇺🇦 When Russia invaded Ukraine late last month, Olga Bolgova and her family suddenly found themselves fighting to survive under siege.

Here she recounts how she, along with her husband Aleksey, and children Artem and Arina, faced Russian bombardment before escaping last week ⬇️
📅 Feb 24 [First day of the Russian invasion]

'It's only 7:30am outside and it's already a mess: ATMs, water, shops. My family say don't panic. I don’t seem to panic, but I went for groceries.'
