Raytheon is the largest producer of guided missiles in the world and is the second largest military contractor. Their headquarters is in Waltham, MA, just minutes from here.
Raytheon has made billions in profits from Israel’s occupation of Palestine, Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen, the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They also have numerous contracts with ICE and other border enforcement agencies around the world.
Yesterday was the 19th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. It was a war that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians. The people and corporations such as Raytheon must be held responsible for this violence, and the legacy of these atrocities reckoned with.
Raytheon's CEO Gregory J. Hayes delights at the violence that he contributes to. In January, he declared "I fully expect we’re going to see benefit” and “opportunities for international sales” from the war in Ukraine, and escalations with the war on Yemen. #EndAllWars
Russia's invasion of Ukraine has sparked global outrage and a new wave of anti-war energy.
We believe it is essential that this movement grow to oppose all wars and colonial occupations; including Saudi Arabia's war on Yemen, Israel's occupation of Palestine, and all forms of U.S. imperialism.
We will not stand for the global war machine, the U.S. military industrial complex, and Raytheon's direct contribution to these atrocities.
In a statement made from the roof, the protesters said: "Agreements between Raytheon and the US government to sell missiles to Saudi Arabia and Israel account for thousands of civilian deaths and injuries, and thousands of others displaced
They continued: "Raytheon is complicit in these deaths. The United States government is complicit in these deaths... 10.They continued: "...And with every war, every conflict, Raytheon profits multiply...
"...Raytheon profits multiply as bombs fall on schools, wedding tents, hospitals, homes, and on communities. Living, breathing, human beings are killed. Lives destroyed, war, for profit."
