"What does the Kremlin need [Ordo Iuris] for? To take over governments in Europe, or at least to lead the West to the verge of a religious and ideological war." -- @KSuchanow. The article shows how Putin's pal Vladimir Yakunin is a major Ordo Iuris funder. resetobywatelski.pl/ordo-iuris-and…
Here are tweets from Ahmari & Pappin on Ordo Iuris, and a photo from Ordo Iuris fundraiser Dominik Jabs showing him with Ahmari.
Jabs gathers $$ from Putin pals Konstantin Malofeev and Vlad Yakunin. Malofeev is a monarchist who wants Putin to be a Tsar: ft.com/content/63e034…
And look who was the first follower of the head of Ordo Iuris's college initiative! If Vermeule is taking $$ from them, it's coming from hands stained with Ukrainian blood.
Here are more links on the money trail of Ordo Iuris, which is funded by Russian oligarchs & which has close ties w/Ahmari, Pappin, Vermeule, Dreher, & Deneen.
See the next tweet for a personal comment on the sources of this info.
As a Catholic who upholds Church teaching on sexuality & the dignity of all human life, I wish we didn't have to rely on pro-choice orgs to research the Putin ties of radical conservative orgs. But there's no refuting the disturbing $$ trails they report. resetobywatelski.pl/ordo-iuris-and…
Now that I've taken more time with @Reset_Oby's article, I have to share it again.
This is a must-read for anyone following how dark money is used to manipulate pro-lifers.
Austin Ruse/C-Fam, World Congress of Families, Iona Institute--all take Kremlin $$. resetobywatelski.pl/ordo-iuris-and…
An Iona Institute representative messaged me to say they didn't receive Kremlin money. But, according to the European Parliament, L'Espresso, & many other outlets, they did--laundered through Italian businessman Luca Volonte. See this report:
Here's another L'Espresso report that says Russian oligarchs' funds went to Dignitas Humanae--the Steve Bannon-linked institute that Cardinal Burke was part of: web.archive.org/web/2018111615…
To repeat: I wish pro-life Catholics were doing this kind of investigative reporting so we didn't have to leave it to people who oppose Church teachings. But truth is where you find it.
From @ILLSP_GWU comes this remarkable study of groups that claim to be defenders of "Catholic values" while cozying up to Russian oligarchs: illiberalism.org/unraveling-the…. Through it, I found the video in the next tweet, featuring a key employee of Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev.
Here's Alexey Komov, a key employee of Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, addressing the 2013 World Congress of Families.
Since 2014, Malofeev's been sanctioned by US & EU for funding separatists in Ukraine.
And here's an article on Ordo Iuris, which Ahmari, Vermeule, Deneen, & Dreher are involved with, discussing how it seeks to avoid public ties to Russia: mdpi.com/2077-1444/12/1…
But, as noted earlier, Ordo Iuris does have many ties to Russia, as detailed in this @Reset_Oby article by @KSuchanow. Ordo Iuris has sued Suchanow for linking it to Russia, but she keeps coming back with more evidence.
I hope pro-life investigative journalists such as @BrianFragaNCR start to cover Russian oligarchs' funding of Catholic orgs.
To my fellow Catholics who support Church teachings on life & sexuality: We need to clean up our own house. Don't back groups that take Kremlin blood $$.

1) Since the icon was at a chapel entrance, why do you call the theft mere "bullying"? Why not call it what it is--blasphemy? 2) Is the theft being investigated as a possible hate crime? (It should be.)
I'm also puzzled, @CatholicPres, at your writing, "our Law School has always seen the figure as Jesus," by which you apparently mean that the figure can't represent _both_ Jesus _and_ George Floyd (i.e., inviting us to see Jesus in Floyd). (2 of 4)
Before saying "our Law School has always seen the figure as Jesus," did you consult @CathULaw's Regina Jefferson or Shani Butts? At the icon's blessing, they seemed to interpret it within the artist's intended dual symbolism--both Jesus and Floyd. law.edu/news-and-event… (3 of 4)
After I posted my talk confronting G.K. Chesterton's anti-Semitism, a commenter asked if there were other comments from Chesterton on Jews that were worse than the ones I cited.
I'm sorry to say that the answer's yes. 1/9
In my talk, I used only examples of GKC's anti-Semitism for which I had pics of original sources. I'd read worse examples in @mayerssd's book Chesterton's Jews but didn't have photos. I feared if I cited them without photos, folks wouldn't believe me. 2/9
Today, with the help of @CUAlibraries, I acquired a scan of an essay by Chesterton containing some of his more offensive comments. The essay in question has never been anthologized. I had seen it quoted in Simon Mayers's book and in this blog entry: simonmayers.com/2013/09/25/g-k…. 3/9
I recently spoke at the @chestertonsoc conference on “Chesterton and My Jewish/Catholic Journey.” When Society prez Dale Ahlquist asked me to speak on being a Jew who converted to Catholicism after reading GKC, I told him I wrestled with Chesterton’s writings on Jews. (1/35)
Dale encouraged me to speak honestly of that wrestling, and I am grateful. I’d like to share some highlights from my talk.
I’ll skip the part about how I discovered Chesterton, as I’ve discussed that elsewhere (see thomasaquinas.edu/news/healing-m…). (2/35)
The first part of my talk focused on how Chesterton shaped my understanding of morality. I identified six moral imperatives I learned from him. Then I read quotations from him on Jews. Finally, I recommended judging his writings on Jews by his own moral imperatives. (3/35)
I've long been researching efforts by the Napa Institute & its friends--that is, wealthy advocates of unbridled free-market capitalism--to gain power over the US Church.
In particular, I've researched their efforts to obtain data. ...
So the news that The Pillar used data to expose alleged gay activity by the USCCB's incoming general secretary doesn't surprise me. It was only a matter of time before those who owned such data would begin to use it to name and shame those whom they were willing to see fall. ...
As I've said, no one wants to see a priest who engages in scandalous behavior remain in ministry.
But what we're seeing with The Pillar is an anonymously funded media outlet engaging in expensive data mining that enables editors to choose whom to target & whom to ignore. ...
