Mary Anne Trasciatti: Some of the girls who died in that fire were as young as 13, 14 years old. We'll be dedicating a memorial on March 25th.

Mary Anne Trasciatti: Frances Perkins witnessed the fire & was so moved, she became one of the investigators to look into working conditions around New York. So many of the workplace protections we have today are from the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire.

Mary Anne Trasciatti: There was a strike in 1909, the Uprising of the 20,000. It was the largest strike up to its time, inspired by the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. A lot of the companies met the workers' demands for safety issues among other demands.
