In the face of claims by the Marcos camp that the P203-B estate tax due is still being litigated in court, a Supreme Court document shows the June 5, 1997 SC ruling became final and executory on March 9, 1999.
In 1997, SC denied Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr.'s bid to challenge BIR assessment of P23B in estate taxes and its levy of Marcos properties. SC noted Marcos failed to file an admin protest within 30 days from service of the tax assessments.

JUST IN: A Bayugan City court has junked the kidnapping and serious illegal detention charge against community doctor and activist Dr. Natividad Castro.
She is now back in Metro Manila after being detained for more than a month in Agusan del Sur, her sister tells ABS-CBN News.
Bayugan court cited 2 grounds for junking Dr. Naty's case: 1) Prosecutors failed to issue a subpoena for the preliminary investigation of her case, violating her right to due process. Court rejected prosecutor's excuse that she has no permanent address because she is NPA member.
2) Bayugan court also revisited the records of the preliminary investigation and found Dr. Naty's identity and participation in the kidnapping were not sufficiently alleged; she was not mentioned in the original complaint and was merely added to supplemental complaint.

A portion of our interview with VP Leni Robredo airs on #ANCRundown in a bit. Link here:
VP Leni Robredo on “no vaxx, no ride” policy: This conversation cannot even be considered until after govt already exhausted all possible means to bring vaccines to the people...we should offer reasonable incentives, we should run a proper comms and behavior change campaign.
SOJ Menardo Guevarra defends "no vaxx, no ride" policy
Guevarra says that while a person has the right to refuse vaccination, State has power to regulate movement of unvaccinated if in the interest of public health/public safety and for benefit of vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Guevarra: Note that there is no restriction on travel for unvaccinated persons, just restriction on access to public transportation or common carriers, subject to well-defined exceptions.
But isn't there, in effect, discrimination vs unvaccinated who do not own cars as oppose to those who do?
Guevarra says there is substantial distinction bet vaxxed and unvaxxed. More than 3/4 who get hospitalized are unvaxxed, more than 3/4 who die are unvaxxed.
