Hoja kuu ya kutumia Kiswahili kama Lugha ya Kufundishia(LYK)siyo kuwepo au kutokuwepo kwa misamiati mizito—hiyo yaweza hata kuwa ya Kiarabu,Kichina,Kiingereza,Kilatini,Kigiriki au hata Kipare—kilicho muhimu,na hii ndiyo hoja kuu,ni #MAWASILIANO,mwalimu na mwanafunzi #wawasiliane.
Of course,it hardly makes sense why one would leave ‘Africa’ to do African Studies in Europe/North America,but that’s the twin tragedy of having a lot of materials on Africa/Africans stored in the West/Global North and Eurocentric disciplines still taught in African universities.
For sure,there is a geographical advantage of being located physically in ‘Africa’ as far as scholarship is concerned even if,intellectually,Eurocentrism still indirectly rules in African Universities,and that’s the fact that one always faces African realities in their own right.
