3/5 For 2 weeks, Aslanbek's wife, Daniya, could not see him as the police referred to "quarantine", when in fact they were waiting for the signs of the beatings to go away. The state lawyer, according to Daniya, also reported that Aslanbek was badly beaten.

2/5 He was arbitrarily detained in front of the Akimat (local executive body), using brute force and was even handcuffed. He was then brutally beaten in the Ile assembly hall with batons.This beating went on for a long time, he was beaten on the head and tortured with a stun gun.

When he regained consciousness, he asked for water, but instead of water the police officers beat him a couple more times.

A father of 3 children, Akimzhan #BEKTURGANOV was shot in the head on 5 January 2022. He was living in Tulkubas village with his family but came to Almaty to perform welding services.
2/4 On 4 January he went to work and never came back. His family members learnt about his death only on 15 January when they received a call from the morgue. When they came to the morgue, they were told that Akimzhan had been shot in the head by a sniper.

1/4 SHOT BY THREE BULLETS IN THE BACK #Almaty
The father of three minor children, a resident of the city of Atyrau, Alibek #KOPBOLGANOV arrived in Almaty on 1 January 2022, to start work on the construction of a cottage settlement on 4 January.
2/4 On 6 January 2022, his chief let the workers go home due to the "difficult situation."
It was not possible to leave Almaty, since the planes did not fly, the trains did not run, so he stayed in a rented apartment, which was located next to the square in front of the Akimat.
3/4 According to the widow, he went out to the store to buy bread and cigarettes. Before going he called his wife and told her that he was going to the store. He was found in the morgue only on 12 January 2022. Alibek KOPBOLGANOV'S widow, Gulshat UTEGALIYEVA, said:

2/4 On 12 January 2022, he was arbitrarily detained in the street by #IZBASAROV Medet and #KANDIYEV Andrey in #Kobda village. They took him to the gym on Zavodskaya street in Aktobe town and locked him up for 12 days. On 19 January he was released early.
3/4 Also, Alibek reported that his relative, #NURGULDIN Faizulla, died from a stun grenade when he attended a peaceful rally on 5 January. A grenade hit him on the head and he died after two hospital visits.
1/4 A civil activist, #ZHUMABEKULY Tokhtar, born in 1993, is illegally prosecuted on political grounds for the second time under Article 78 Part 2 for participation in the protests in January 2022 in #Aktobe. @EU_Commission
3/4 Tokhtar is the only breadwinner for his parents and he is seeking help from international organisations to protect his rights and to prevent the Kazakhstani authorities from ruining his life, as they did for many victims of the January events.
