Today 1.8 billion Muslims 🌎 fast for 30 days from dawn to sunset.
For my non-muslim friends 👇
You can eat and drink in front of a fasting person during the month of #Ramadan and don’t feel bad. 1/9
#Ramadan is a month of self-control and self reflect to connect with the community for the broader good. Employers, plan to schedule work as usual and maybe skip lunch with Muslim colleagues -:) 2/9
Muslims love to host you for #Iftar (dinner to break fasting). You do not need to fast to attend the dinner. If you have a Muslim friend, please do iftar — it’s yummy and lovely. 3/9
Feel free to say #Ramadan Mubarak or happy Ramadan to Muslims — it's similar to saying Happy Christmas. It won’t offend a Muslim if you say it, it’s sweet. Not mandatory to say Ramadan Mubarak to very Muslim -:) 4/9
Yes, Muslims in #Ramadan do not drink water as part of fasting as well 😇. This is a question asked by a lot of non-Muslim members of the community out of love and respect. 5/9
#Ramadan is followed by Eid a 3 days holiday where Muslims gather, eat and do all fun activities— similar to Christmas and other amazing events. You can also say “Eid. Mubarak” 6/9
During #Ramadan day, a fasting person abstains from eating any food, drinking any liquids, smoking cigarettes, and engaging in any sexual activity, from dawn to sunset. From 5 am - 8 pmish. 7/9
Lose weight, oppositely most people gain weight in #Ramadan because they eat a lot as families make their best dishes every day. If you planning to lose weight, fasting is good but you should control yourself from eating all the delicious dishes at #iftar 😋 8/9
In Islam, there are several exceptions where a Muslim can skip fasting, including prepubertal children, women during their menstrual period or postnatal bleeding, travelers, pregnant or breastfeeding women who believe in fasting for long hours. 9/9

Taliban released ISIS prisoners and they went straight to the airport, boarded the C-17 US Air Force without any documents and within 72 hours they were in the United States. FOLLOW THREAD 1/8
I was helping Afghan and American citizens to get inside HKIA in those two weeks of the evacuation. I had two journalists filming and interviewing while fleeing Kabul. In the first week —anyone who could pass the crowd & climb the wall, made it to the US visa-free. 2/8
“At one point, Americans opened the gate and hundreds of us ran to the gates,” said one of the evacuees who only had a national ID. A group of friends were smoking weed when they heard the news of Americans allowing anyone inside — they are now in the US. 3/8
