The greatest, and sickest irony of the @GOP's new political strategy is that they are appealing to the most prurient fears of white Christian parents, while passing bills and maintaining alliances that normalize child brides and rape as a legitimate means of procreation.
If Democrats were anything like Republicans, they'd long ago have begun calling them the pro-rape, pro child marriage party and accusing them of forcing women to be child-birthing slaves of the state, while banning the teaching of what slavery is to keep the chattel docile.
I genuinely fear that before long, America will look a lot more like Russia or Hungary or even Afghanistan than any one of y'all can imagine. Because Republicans are aggressive in their pursuit of social and political control, while just about everyone else is pretty disengaged.
Think I'm exaggerating? Here is the @FDRLST piece that @chrislhayes referred to on his show tonight, in which the author justifies a 40-something year old man marrying a 14-16 year old girl, for the purposes of pumping her full of many, many children... thefederalist.com/2017/11/30/ala…
And here's another, in which the @FDRLST gives away the game: all that matters is the SCOTUS. Because it is through the Supreme Court, that the white Christian right hopes to impose its Taliban code and procreation-centered ideology on us all. #underhiseye thefederalist.com/2017/11/28/jus…
It's Putinite fascism mixed with Talibanism. And it's what they hope to impose on us: unbreakable rule by far right Christian ideologues, coal & oil polluters, heeled corporations & the super rich. With all rights hoarded by white Christian men & everyone else under firm control.
Fascist America is not gonna be a great place to live, folks, at least not for women and people of color. It can still be prevented, but y'all have got to wake up. And yeah, Democrats are largely uninspiring and terrible fighters. But they're all that stands between us and them.

Delano do YOU believe women have inherent value or are we just broodmares for men to do with as they please (rape included) and for the state to force into the breeding kennels? And given the number of Black women who will die from backalley abortions this IS a civilrights issue.
Have whatever religious beliefs you like but please don’t hide behind Black women to pursue the agenda white Christian* nationalists have laid out for you. Especially if you have said nothing about our disproportionate maternal death & child poverty. prb.org/resources/blac…
Black women know who is on our side and who isn’t. Don’t bother trying to recruit us to the cause of slaveholder religion “Christians” whose real, ORIGINAL fight, even after Roe, was to get back the tax benefits for segregated schools. politico.com/magazine/story…

We discussed this on Friday on @thereidout. Not only did @HawleyMO praise a light sentence (probation) for a cop who strangled his girlfriend with a shirt and orally raped her, he also formed a sex trafficking task force that members called just for show.
And it should be mentioned that @HawleyMO’s “soft on sex crime” record came when he was the top law enforcement official in Missouri as that state’s attorney general, and an apparent publicity hound.
kansascity.com/opinion/reader…
Beyond that, Hawley has repeatedly voted to confirm white male nominees to the federal bench who had sentencing records in similar cases that were identical to #KetanjiBrownJackson’s record. The only other difference? Trump nominated them. washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/…

Clearly the answer to the right wing question #WhatIsAWoman is: a person you collect a bounty on if she tries to get an abortion and who you shrug at and say "have the baby or we'll sue you" if she gets raped. Also: someone whose job is to have big boobs and get men a sandwich.
Also #WhatIsAWoman -- a person you pay 80 percent of what you pay a man to do the same job; or 60-67 percent if she's Black, Hispanic, AAPI or indigenous. americanprogress.org/article/women-…
Also #WhatIsAWoman -- A person, whether cis or trans, old or young, whom the right does not feel they need bother to respect if she is not white or MAGA or Christian or conservative. Even if she is a sitting federal judge. I think that about sums it up. thenation.com/article/politi…

.@LindseyGrahamSC is an embarrassment to the United States Senate. His performative vitriol and hostility to Judge Jackson whom he has repeatedly voted to elevate to the federal bench; and who he's now treating like a Black shopper he's following around the store, is repugnant.
Lindsey thinks the purpose of this hearing is to personally get revenge for Amy Barrett and accused teen rapist Brett Kavanaugh-and to vent his spleen about his SC candidate not being the nominee. Well @LindseyGrahamSC we already knew who you were. Thanks for confirming our view.
Lindsey and the other Confederates @SenTomCotton & @HawleyMO are trying to put a stain on #KetanjiBrownJackson that matches the stain on Clarence (who was accused of pushing porn on unwilling women) & Kavanaugh, who was accused of sexually violating high school and college women.

While @TomCottonAR is badgering Judge #KetanjiBrownJackson re rape and other crime, and @HawleyMO @tedcruz @LindseyGrahamSC etc attacked her about child pornography, a reminder that the girls Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexually violating were high school and college students.
I don't recall any of their outrage about that. Also: speaking of crime, as @ElieNYC has asked: do they think people convicted of committing violent insurrection against the United States should be sentenced to more time, or less than they have been by present federal judges?
Here are the allegations that we know of, against Republicans' favorite justice post-Scalia: Brett Kavanaugh... businessinsider.com/brett-kavanaug…

Oh joy. @tedcruz is now doing his distinctive brand of whingey white conservative male performance art; trying to goad #KetanjiBrownJackson into denouncing Critical Race Theory and the #1619Project, neither of which Cruz is smart enough to understand.
The bottom line for the right is that to be qualified for a SCOTUS seat, or really any position in “their” America, Black people must ritualistically disown and denounce Black people, Black thought, Black culture, Black history and any and all racial and historical consciousness.
They must vow to only and always defend white Christian male sovereignty over America, as enumerated in the original constitution. No white candidate for any office is required to similarly denounce white supremacy, white Christian nationalism, or even insurrection. We see y’all.
