16 Awesome DeFi & Crypto YouTubers to follow..

🧵 👇 [1/21]
These are not your average CryptoTubers who will help you lose money quickly with their nonsense clickbait:

• "URGENT!! These 5 altcoins are going to 5x this month!!!"

• "Do this NOW or lose 95% of your portfolio!! ACTUALLY URGENT!!!"
I've (unfortunately) spent many hours watching that crap, and I've also spent many hours watching these folks below, who will actually teach you something.

Here are some top-shelf YouTubers 👇
(in no particular order)
1. @phtevenstrong: The Calculator Guy

He makes great videos explaining new DeFi protocols and strategies.

His secret sauce is a sweet beard and running through the numbers with super useful spreadsheets.

youtube.com/channel/UCPIMr…
2. @Dynamo_Patrick: Dynamo DeFi

Lots of educational content where he runs through his favorite new DeFi strategies.

I always look forward to Yield Farm Fridays.

3. @danku_r

A great resource in the #LUNAtic community - you'll find great strategy explanations, and Terra community interviews on his channel.

youtube.com/channel/UCR2Bn…
4. @milesdeutscher: Miles Deutscher has some excellent content on his channel - mostly about $FTM but he's branching out more now.

youtube.com/channel/UCVVX-…
5. @Prof_Crypto_B: Professor Banana has such a great attitude, and is constantly dropping alpha and (more recently) interviewing great folks as well:

youtube.com/channel/UCFnH4…
6. I've also found some great alpha on @ThorHoejer's channel.

He makes videos primarily about yield farming strategies in the @terra_money and @cosmos ecosystems (though he isn't limited to those chains).

youtube.com/c/ThorCrypto
7. @mohitjandwani: Mohit makes in-depth videos on his channel DeFi Masterclass (Mohit in DeFi).

I've learned about a number of projects like AlphaHomora and Vader from his channel.

His channel deserves a lot more subs!

youtube.com/c/DefiMasterCl…
8. @Jesseeckel is a more of a storyteller than an alpha leaker. He shares his experiences about projects he aped into, other life happening and learnings.

It's been fun following his journey - he has a really refreshing way of making content.

youtube.com/c/jesseeckel2
9. @JustinCBram makes some really easy to understand videos, explaining projects and sharing knowledge about crypto.

youtube.com/c/JustinBram
10. @jacobavan_ is the smallest channel on here, but so far I've only seen top shelf content about DeFi yields on his YouTube.

Looking forward to more good stuff 🥂

youtube.com/channel/UC--1a…
11. @CoinBureau: Guy's project explainers are probably the best in the biz – I've learned a lot from them.

Most importantly, he is a man of integrity, shares both sides of the story & doesn't shill his own bags like some.

*cough* Shitboy *cough*

youtube.com/c/CoinBureau
12. For understanding new concepts, there's nothing better than @finematics' animated explainer videos

youtube.com/c/Finematics
14. Except perhaps Theodore from @WhiteboardCryp1 who makes such concepts so simple your grandpa could understand them (his words, but I will second that):

youtube.com/c/WhiteboardCr…
15. I also enjoy making animated explainer videos about crypto.

I haven't been able to find enough time to make videos consistently as I'd like to, but I'm working on it by finding great people to help.

Anyone interested, feel free to DM me :)

youtube.com/c/LightbulbMom…
16. I'm not a fan of TA, and don't really watch much TA content, but I've seen enough to know that @intocryptoverse and @Nicholas_Merten are pretty good.

(and most importantly, they seem like honest non-shiller).
Bonus (Not a YouTube channel):

@hufhaus9, the lead farmer at @ReimaginedFi has a really interesting podcast on Spotify where he interviews project founders and DeFi farmers.

New to #crypto?

Here's some basic terminology and concepts to get you started..

+ some pro tips for navigating Crypto Twitter at the end.

👇 🧵 [1/x]
Basic Terminology:

• Wallet: A wallet is your gateway to crypto. Wallets can store and send crypto, and can connect with and interact with decentralized apps.

• Dapps or Decentralized apps - these are apps built on a decentralized blockchain.
Web2 vs Web3

• web2: Centralized web (most of the internet): Facebook, Twitter, etc

• web3: Decentralized web, apps are built on decentralized blockchains.

Typically, web3 apps will not require an email login, but will just ask you to connect with your wallet.

This is the story of how Kyle Macdonald (@oneredpaperclip) traded a Red Paperclip for a House over the course of a year and 14 trades...

📎 --> 🏡

[1/36] 🧵 👇
Note: this story has nothing to do with crypto. I just found it really inspiring, and wanted to share it.

But I did connect it to the crypto journey at the end.

If you can find some time, I highly recommend reading the original story on his blog.

(Link at the end)
Our story begins in 2005. Kyle didn't have a job at the time, but he had:
• an internet connection
• a red paperclip on his desk
• a dream to own a house

He remembered a game called Bigger and Better where you trade something for something else that's more valuable. Image

Beginner-friendly ways to earn interest on $AVAX (@avalancheavax) or other assets.

[1/14] 👇 🧵
I've received some questions from people looking for resources on how to earn interest on $AVAX.

So, here are some very basic yield ideas for beginners.

The same ideas can work for assets other than $AVAX.
1. Delegate your $AVAX to be staked:

Here's a great video tutorial about that.

Classic crypto journey:

1. Learn about $BTC & $ETH
2. Speculate on alts - win some, lose some
3. Dabble with trading - win some, lose most
4. Dive into the rabbit hole - DeFi, NFTs, Gaming, etc
5. Set up a @MetaMask wallet

Many doors are unlocked after step 5. 🗝

[1/13] 🧵 👇
Most never make it that far.

If you want to accelerate your progress, I'd skip step 3.

Setting up a MetaMask wallet is one of the best things you can do to grow in crypto & DeFi.

The way to get big gains in #crypto is to be willing to do things that most people aren't doing.
Less than 0.25% of the planet has a MetaMask wallet.

Only ~10% of people who own crypto have a MetaMask wallet.

A mega-🧵 about Layer 2 scaling solutions for @ethereum.

• Why are Layer 2s necessary?

• Understanding sidechains, plasma chains, channels, and rollups (differences, pros & cons)

• What does this mean for L1s?

[1/42] 👇
Note: much of the information in this thread comes straight from the @ethereum docs.

I've tried to organize and compress it as best as I can, but I recommend referring to the official docs for best info.

I'll also link to other helpful resources.

A lot of this content is highly technical, and was challenging to understand.
