It happened in #Bucha , Kyiv oblast
"We went to the back garden of the house, and there I saw the bodies of Serhii, his brother-in-law Roman and another man on the ground." 1/4 #BuchaMassacre#RussiaWarCrimes
Serhii had a blue cloth on his face; Roman received a gunshot wound to the head. The third man, a civilian, was unknown. 2/4
72-year-old Tatiana Petrovna, a close relative, entered the garden in tears. She brought yellow flowers, some cookies and crackers with poppy seeds - put them, crying, next to Roman's body. She called him "Romanchik." 3/4
Analysis. With this war Russia is reaching the opposite to what it wanted or might have wanted. Thread 0/7
1/7 it wanted to destroy Ukrainian nation, but it consolidated and strengthened it even more. Today's Ukrainian consolidation is stronger than even during Maidan
2/7 it wanted to weaken NATO and EU but only strengthened / consolidated them
"We found Sashenka's body." (Thread 1/4)
These are the scariest words any mother can write about her child.
The whole of Ukraine has been looking for a 4-year-old boy for several weeks. #RussianWarCrimes
The whole of #Ukraine believed that the baby was alive, and we will hear his laughter and the whole country will be able to heave a sigh. 2/4
But.
Sasha became a victim of Russia. Together with his grandmother, he fled in a boat from the occupiers who came to the village in Kyiv oblast, where they lived. 3/4
0. President Zelensky addressed the UN Security Council. Key points of his speech are in the thread below 👇
1. It is hard to find a war crime Russia has not committed in Bucha. Russians murdered entire families, tried to burn their bodies, shot civilians in the eyes, threw them in wells, run them over with tanks, cut their limbs off - all of that simply for pleasure
2. Bucha is only one example of Russia's war crimes. The world is yet to see the same in Mariupol, Kharkiv, Borodianka, etc. The only thing that differs these atrocities from those committed by ISIS is that they were committed by a Security Council's permanent member state
Mariupol. #Testimony of a witness or “russian roulette”. From an Instagram post by Anna Serdiuk. Thread, a must read 1/9
I survived. For 22 days of the war, I was in Mariupol. To say that it was hell is an understatement. We have lost everything that a person can lose. Our homes, belongings, pets, people we know, lost touch with our loved ones. 2/9
We still do not know if they are alive. They were trying to kill us, every second of our “lives” there. In Mariupol, we changed three basements and managed to cross the city from one side to the other. 3/9
