We crossed back into Canada April 1st, the 1st day pre-arrival covid tests were not required.
I was "randomly selected" and told to complete the take home test from @SwitchHealthCA within 24 hours. /1
Within an hour of getting to our cottage, fairly remotely located, where we indicated we would isolate in our #ArriveCan app (which worked well) as part of the quarantine plan ArriveCan asks for, I started the registration and testing process. /2
I needed to register on the Switch Health site, providing a ton of very private details including #OHIP, Passport, DOB, etc.
While I had no choice, I wondered "who is Switch Health?" "What GoC agency has confirmed their #cyber#security in order to protect my #PII?"
/3
I still don't have the answers to those questions...
The test was simple and was watched via video by one of their folks.
Then the real nightmare began... trying to arrange for @PurolatorInc to pick up the test and get it to @SwitchHealthCA in time.
/4
It took multiple calls over two days to both companies to finally have the test picked up by some random guy in a car on April 3rd, two days after completing the test. It was delivered April 5th and I just got the results back now, on April 8th (Negative).

My questions:
Why do this at all?
If we are going to continue, why not just have @GovCanHealth staff or contractors at the border. Send me to them, complete the test, and get the results in a couple days.
Way less expensive, faster, easier and far more #cyber secure.
/6
Finally, and by far the most important to me, what is going to happen to my #PII?
I absolutely DO NOT CONSENT to allowing @SwitchHealthCA to continue holding my information.
I will follow up with @GovCanHealth to ensure my PII is deleted.
