Just been staring in awe at these tweets for several minutes. This is absolutely the peak of Substack brain.
The Substack grifters are almost all wealthy white dudes who face no oppression and get paid $1000s a month to sit on their computers (in their mansions) and burp out takes about how white conservatives are the real oppressed, while downplaying anything the GOP does.
In a way it makes logical sense. States passing laws to criminalize Trans children or making it illegal for a teacher to mention their partner...none of that effects a Matt Taibbi. Banning someone from their Twitter account for pushing Ivermectin? That has Matt terrified.
In a way, it's basically just an extreme case of desperately needing to log off and get a sense of perspective. Well, that and just becoming a garden variety cultural grievance Right Winger (who, I guess still might be in support of #M4A).
It all fits in perfectly with this previous thread. This is truly what he believes.

Damn, gotta hand it to Matt Taibbi, after his non-stop silence on the GOP's bad behavior coupled withattacking Dems, he finally has a biting tweet calling them out for their use of moral panics to distract people from their total lack of policies....

Just in the past few weeks alone, he's had to ignore: the entirety of the "don't say gay" bill, Ron DeSantis' PR lady (who he frequently interacts with) calling gay ppl "groomers", his favorite account (LibsofTikTok) calling for gay teachers to be fired and on and on....
Literally his first and only comment about any of it.

The thing about this tactic, which Mikey, Glem and their ilk use constantly is that they're not using it to get people to care just as much about the other atrocities, they're using it to shut down talk/tell people not to care about this current thing. Image
It has nothing to do with moral consistency or hypocrisy or whatever they pretend, rather it's simply about excusing the people they like (Russia, Trump, Tucker, etc) from the awful things that they're doing.
If it was truly about consistency, Glenn & Michael would be talking just as much about the atrocities in Ukraine as they were the others, but instead they ignore, deflect and tone-police those who actually care. Nothing less 'morally consistent' than what they are doing.

Naturally of course, Glenn is just outright lying about it. It's not stretching the truth; he just continues to lie, repeatedly. He believes that by shear repetition he can basically will his lies into truth (and that his readers won't actually click through and read the article. Image
Again, just outright lying about what was claimed. He repeatedly screenshots some headlines but of course doesn't link to the letter which explicitly says they are *not* claiming that they know the emails to be forgeries. ImageImage
And of course, in typical Glem "I project my behavior on to you" narcissist shit, he attacks his enemies (the media) for 'lying for noble ends' which is of course what he is doing because he sees attacking Dems as the most important thing to his worldview. Image
