The more insane they drive The Show's programming, the larger the gap from it to reality. That tension has been stretched so far w/ these ideologue educator laws that it's snapping now. But this isnt new. "Death DeSantis" π‘
Nothing sums up our propaganda era more than DeSantis v. Cuomo. DeSantis was walking on water down here during the pandemic, yet he's made the Grim Reaper. Meanwhile, Cuomo is a dumpster fire yet given awards and brought on CNN to play w/ his brother.
Real-life... well, sort of.
The rest of the nation doesn't quite appreciate how deep this wedge has been driven in FL. It's largely why we speak so brashly. We've been out of the fantasy for 2+yrs now. COVID pulled the seal off and changed everything.
All the propaganda has done is steel our resolve further. You think we didn't notice news coverage of FL charted identically to COVID #s? How much did you hear about Rebekah Jones? She was a fraud, used by ALL MEDIA in desperation when the truth could no longer be concealed. π¨
Understand this... the vast majority of Floridians ALWAYS KNEW Rebekah was full of shit. She was a lie, a stage prop. But nationally, you'd only see pieces from the Miami-Herald and Orlando Sentinel that seemed to reflect FL being on Jones' side and everyone mad at Ron.
ππ€£ No.
I took the below video in Feb of 2021. Weeks after the Superbowl in Tampa, our stadiums and malls were open, masks were disappearing, we never had vax mandates, schools in-person statewide, etc.
Yet all we hear nationally is how none of this is possible.
Why am I harping on COVID so much? Because it provided tangible proof of the propaganda. The sheer disparity between the 24/7 narrative blasted down every channel and the REALITY before our own eyes down here changed people... permanently. And this happened en masse. Statewide.
I hate the overuse of this word but DeSantis truly became a hero to the people down here. When I wrote the below, I meant it. I've never felt more thankful and indebted to a politician. Not even close; on another level. He directly changed my family's life
And this sentiment I'm describing above is becoming cultural down here. You jokingly hear the phrase "The New Republic of Florida", but there is a truth underlying it. We know Florida is something more than it was three years ago.
These $100M donations don't surprise me one bit.
You should see our property values! Many non-Floridians also understand that our state now stands for something more. I believe we're witnessing the beginning of long-term seismic changes myself.
And this returns me to the paramount problem for the DNC and establishment left...
The party has shown its cards. They can't separate from the radicals. They've shoved every chip in on dogma like "anti-racism"/CRT and gender mania. And now that's found an arena outside of The Show. The rubber of reality is meeting the road...
Of course, read from a handful of outlets in Miami/Orlando/Tampa and youll get a different story. The propaganda hasnt stopped one bit... it just lost its grip down here b/c COVID woke us up.
People like Fried/Crist are about to drive the DNC off a cliff!
It's wild how many haven't even begun grappling with these realities. π
I've talked about that a lot too; the density of the silo walls coming back to bite. This is an emotionally-driven sect, our "bleeding hearts". I guess it's just easier to #Believe.
The rise of the millennials coincided with the almost complete dominance of liberal thinking (and even progressive ideology) within academia. From the very floor re the teacher training and development apparatus, to the ceiling with almost uniformity at the university level.
As this demo aged out, it assumed a significant portion of what I'll broadly describe as the "expert-class". From medicine to psychology and high sciences, but also our arts and journalism and industries like education.
This progression explains so much of the grip we're under.
It ties together with that quote you used to frequently hear about "Oh, it's just the ruminations of naive college kids on liberal arts campuses. They'll grow up when the real-world hits them."
No... they're turning the real-world into a liberal arts campus instead. π‘
The center-left needed to operate as a break or a governor for the pendulum not swinging too far out that way. They failed. Entirely.
They could have pivoted to a role that helped prevent it from crashing too far back right. They chose not to.
They will shoulder much blame.
While what I'm addressing above largely roots back to social-based issues, it's critical to recognize (and eerie to accept) the role the theater of COVID and the coercive application of unscientific vaccine mandates played in this (citizen soldiers π‘)...
There is a direct connection between these two, even though you'd think they're entirely unrelated. No no no, they fueled each other. Cogs of the same machine. π‘
It is truly surreal that our former president is unable to speak on our own nation's social media.
A short story that tells a long tale.
And it's creepy that they all did it in concert - that such a capability exists. The elected leader of our people less than a year and a half ago, now with a voice that has been completely silenced. Eerie. Ominous.
Many who read that will have a computer fire on inside and spit out reasons why he absolutely should have been banned. I'm no Trump guy. Never was. But if you don't see what a perilous slope it is to grant media circled around one party that power, you're a truly committed fool.
"Sadly yes; our culture is creating more and more mental illness: the further we get from the natural world, from the natural order of things, the further into disorder on every level; spiritual, psychological, physical, etc. We are living in an intellectual & spiritual cesspool"
Mental health illness is driving so much. And that's because we've begun championing, rewarding and in turn glorifying it (making it attractive) rather than addressing and treating it.
People wear illness with pride like it's a sports jerseys these days.
Damn, thats a heavy line. The center-left becoming spineless (largely driven by the blind-mania of TDS) was a key ingredient in this societal insanity. By becoming a doormat, they gave radicals the keys. And now its Frankenstein.
That's what this thread is about. Inspired by some deeply revealing comments from Van Jones. He couldnt understand why America was talking about CRT instead of BBB. His bafflement was genuine. It was like watching lightbulbs click on in real-time.
