Scotland under the SNP.

Since Nicola Sturgeon became FM, Scotland has descended into an authoritarian nightmare.

English commentators and colleagues may think this is hyperbole…

But is it?

A Short THREAD Image
One of the first things Nicola Sturgeon did when she became FM was to silence dissent among her rivals and allies in her own party, the SNP.

Seriously, talk out of line and you are toast.

You can bullshit about #indyref but not Chief Mammy. Image
This view has been described as “Stalinist” by some of our braver journalists.

Transparency and democracy?

Don’t be daft. Image
Another useful tool in the SNP arsenal is to simply redact reports.

Publish them, yes. But anything important would make the Warren Report blush.

Use any old excuse to keep the juicy stuff from getting out. Image
Of course you can also delay (like after an election, that’s handy) or censor reports in other ways.

SNP can’t take criticism or poor comparisons so they simply censor or change the metric or in extreme cases withdraw Scotland from the system. Image
And censorship has been used to at least try to silence journalists who are not rabid, foaming at the mouth, marching, flag waving separatists.

They tried it with Stephen Daisley and more recently with Sarah Smith.

Set the mob on them. The hounds. The cyber twats. Image
Sturgeon also likes a good cover up.

She didn’t want us to be the first place in Britain to have a Covid hotspot, so the #Nikegate conference in Edinburgh was hushed up.

Let someone else take the heat.

Transparent and open? Don’t make me laugh. Image
The SNP love secrecy.

For years they haven’t been taking minutes at meetings.

Handy for when you get caught.

Doesn’t that set off alarm bells for anyone? Image
And even if evidence does exist and you get cornered/caught, why not just shred or delete the said evidence?

No one is going to arrest you or sack you.

Sturgeon’s SNP are infallible. They can do no wrong in the eyes of The Faithful. Image
Most remarkable of all is £5 BILLION of Covid money was handed out (at least we think it was) by the SNP yet Audit Scotland cannot find a paper trail.

Isn’t this the very definition of corruption or at least incompetence.

No one has been arrested or sacked. ImageImageImageImage
But so what if there was no paper trail? As long as the right people get the money? Right?

Cough.

Wrong.

The SNP have a shady history of only supporting pro independence groups, even charities.

This isn’t normal. This is undemocratic. ImageImage
Yet if you have links with the SNP, the lads will see you alright.

I’m sure this money was awarded fairly & scrutinised properly, but how can we be sure when the SNP show little accountability and transparency? Image
Remember the SNP are led by Nicola Sturgeon and her husband is the Chief Executive of the SNP, Peter Murrell.

The SNP is too incestuous. Too much nepotism.

They are authoritarian beyond belief.

What’s next? Image
It seems the SNP get a pass from the media.

There are many, many more scandals and of course they use lies, myths and conspiracy theories to further the indoctrination of Scots.

Scotland deserves better. Image

F for Fake:

Sturgeon and the SNP deceive Scots.

They have overseen a litany of failures, scandals, hypocrisy and alleged corruption yet nothing happens.

Ask SNP why?

A Thread. Image
Nicola Sturgeon promised when she became FM to be judged on Education. So let’s take a look at that first. Image
But don’t worry, Scottish kids are doing brilliantly in our National tests/exams, our Scottish exams, you know, in Scotland.

But internationally you can’t pull the wool over our record slide since SNP took over. SNP didn’t tell the truth.

Ask SNP why?

The SNP’s relationship with Europe.

A thread.
Let’s travel back to 1975.

When the EEC (as it was then) in/out referendum was held, the SNP wanted Scotland (and Britain) out of the EEC.

Interesting quote from Alex Salmond below.
After being dealt a bloody nose by being blamed for bringing down Callaghan’s Labour Government and ushering in Maggie Thatcher, the SNP struggled in the wilderness during the 1980s.

In 1988 they eventually came up with a new idea:

“Independence in Europe”

The Strange Case of Nicola Ferguson Sturgeon:

A Thread
Nicola was born in Irvine, July 1970 and attended Dreghorn Primary & Greenwood Academy.

Note: That’s Ayrshire, not Glasgow 👍
Nicola said she detested Thatcher growing up yet in one of the many incongruous elements in her life, her parents took advantage of that most Thatcherite of working class policies: buy your own council house

A thread:

Many Scots are in denial over Barnett, GERs figures, HS2, we export more to the UK, Crossrail, Currency, future of mortgages and pensions, Churchill sending tanks to George Square, the 51st being abandoned and many many more myths, lies and conspiracy theories.

Why?
To create the narrative that England cheats or steals from us.

This is furthered by unpalatable rhetoric by SNP elected politicians who spout knowing lies about our relationship and situation.

They even can’t accept the fact the UK is a country, a unitary state: our country.
Why is independence supporting parties doing well in our elections in Scotland then if it’s all lies?

Well this is where I suggest Flat Earthers, Moon Landing Conspiracy nuts and my favourite the JFK assassination conspiracy theories are useful.

It seems to me people are deliberately ignoring the differences between elections and referendums.

Referendums are single issue votes that have seismic impacts. Massive change is enacted if change wins.

That is why they cannot be every few years.

Uncertainty kills economy.
Refusing to accept the results of referendums is undemocratic.

The position of the SNP/Yes re: Brexit is disingenuous.

A Yes vote in 2014 would have seen Scotland out of the EU.

SNP didn’t campaign for Remain EU. They spent more on a by-election than the Remain vote.
The SNP wrote in their white paper it was a once in a generation vote.

Hold them to that.

Or what does their word mean?

Respect The Edinburgh Agreement.

The worst thing for Scotland is to have another referendum before a fair period of time has elapsed. Why?
