Interview beginning now, with a recorded interview now and a live appearance before an audience later.
“People don’t understand; this is going to be bigger than the car.”
@elonmusk , on humanoid robots
“I think the cost is not going to be crazy high, something less than a car.”
… on the price of a humanoid robot
“If I had a dogecoin for every crypto scam I’ve seen, I’d have 100 million dogecoin or something… but don’t bet the farm on dogecoin. I like dogs and I like memes, so…”
“There is.”
(in response to the question, “If Twitter doesn’t agree to go along, is there a Plan B?”)
For those who missed the live interview, here’s a working link:
At the 7:01 mark, the live audience’s spontaneous reaction sounds *exactly like* a “canned laughter” sound effect from a network TV sitcom! 🤣

About one hour ago, Elon Musk gave a speech celebrating the first Tesla Model Y deliveries at Giga Berlin/Brandenburg

$TSLA
(full text of @elonmusk‘s remarks in the thread below)
In German:
Thank you, Brandenburg, Grünheide, and Germany.

In English:
I’ll go to English. So I’m incredibly excited to hand over the first production cars from our incredible team here at Giga Berlin Brandenburg.

This is a great day for the factory and I’d just like to thank everyone who thanked. Thank you very much! You’ve really made a big difference. And to the community, Tesla will make sure that this is a gemstone for the area, for Germany, for Europe, and for the world.

The lowest price at which $TSLA has been bought and sold in the past 2 years occurred *exactly 2 years ago*. 🤔
If you’d like to know what TSLAQ was tweeting about exactly 2 years ago, I added a few screenshots of my own to Tesla Historian’s in this thread:

Here's a $TSLAQ chart @TESLAcharts tweeted out on July 23, 2020 (right after Fremont was shut down for 6 weeks due to Covid and Shanghai was still ramping, at left)
vs.
the actual $TSLA revenue growth since (5 out of 6 all-time record high quarters)

"Post-truth world" indeed. 🤣
I figured I may as well just do the whole rest of TC's 2020 Q2 $TSLAQ earnings wrap-up thread, while I'm at it.

Here's tweet 2 compared vs. how quarterly R&D expense has actualized since.

I wonder if TC is happy that Tesla has increased R&D investment... 🤔
On tweet 3, TC charted Solar MW (production) deployed.

This is one of the few areas Tesla hasn't grown sharply over the past year and a half... but it didn't keep dropping either.

Who's ready for a 69-tweet $TSLA forecast thread?

Tweets...
1-17 are assorted charts
18-21 are an '18-'21 recap
22-69 are detailed forecasts thru 2023

I cannot underscore enough: the Tesla growth story will continue through 2022 and beyond.

Something like this:

Here's a S3XY chart showing only the 4 models Tesla currently makes.

2022 will be the first year Tesla produces Model Y in Fremont, Shanghai, Austin, and Berlin.

By the end of next year, Model Y may be the best-selling SUV in the world. 📈

Here's a look at just Model 3 and Model Y... the #1 and #2 best-selling luxury vehicles in the U.S. last year.

No other luxury vehicle is likely to outsell either of them anytime soon.

The $TSLA 2021 10-K filing is posted: sec.gov/Archives/edgar…
This chart is actually in the deck, and I find it hilarious.
Tesla's 2021 global automotive sales revenue increased year-over-year by more than 2019 global automotive sales revenue was, in total. 👀

The first time I tried laying out these pie charts, I had 6 of them, but it was just way too much detail, so I cut 3 of them.

For those intrepid souls undaunted by the prospect of 6 very busy pie charts on one slide, here they are:
$TSLA was the #1 brand by unit volume in the UK in December 2021 (after not even ranking among the top 18 brands in December 2019).

$F fell from #1 in December 2019 to #10 in December 2021. #DemandCliff
