1] When will CCC hold its inaugural Congress?

A thread....

Have noticed growing sentiments, around the inaugural Citizens Congress, both from well meaning citizens, as well as the regime counterintelligence structures.
I've decided to share some random views on the matter.
2] A few weeks ago, I wrote a (long) article, on how @nelsonchamisa's opponents had failed to understand his #plan

I equally argued that Zimbabwe isn't a normal democracy & thus CCC wouldn't survive for long, if it's leaders behaved & acted as if we were

enkosii.blogspot.com/2022/04/has-no…
3] Yes, in a normal democracy, it would be ideal for CCC to go for Congress & participate in the 2023 elections with a leadership without a legitimacy question over their party positions.

However, it's important to query why ZanuPF is very vocal over the CCC Congress concern.
4] Post 2018, ED's multi-pronged strategy to counter legitimacy question bedevilling him, was painting Chamisa with the same brush while keeping MDC internally focused.

The strategy eventually culminated in the infamous SC judgement which bizarrely pushed MDC to a pointless EOC
5] If anyone cares to see how much the SC Judgement was only meant to frustrate @nelsonchamisa, check how ZanuPF lost interest in it, once Nero abandoned the drama

Add also, that the regime doesn't bother inquire why MDC-T hasn't held the ordinary Congress, which is long overdue
6] An internally focused Opp, is ideal for Zanu
Congress/Party primaries, present opportunities
ZanuPF did this with MDC-A

Its more trategic for CCC to use the next 15 months focusing on the census, delimitation process, electoral reforms, ZEC, & not divisive internal processes
7] Another strategic consideration for @CCCZimbabwe, I would assume, is to do with funds.

It's no secret that the party doesn't have enough funds to fully operate as would be ideal.

Most March by-election candidates used personal funds and/or depended on citizens' donations.
8] Those who think the concern for funds is mere scapegoating, should understand that a Congress isn't what happens when a National Leadership is elected.

Congresses actually run for months, from the lowest structure, up to the eventual event.

It's a very expensive exercise.
9] Another issue is that, for all intent & purposes, CCC was formed in January this year

Any narrative that treats the party otherwise is self-serving

A three months old party can't be accused of delaying any processes, using whatever barometer

CCC is still finding its footing
10] I noticed recently, a narrative that perhaps if citizens knew the "full CCC interim leadership", then it would counter some concerns

I found the issue respectfully baseless, because the party has shown effective organizational capacity

CCC is undeniably functioning well
11] Would have been a different story, if CCC had begun showing leadership frailties

The fact that it has since formation, shown otherwise, is an expression of a deliberate strategy

In light of this institutional effectiveness, I'll advocate for allowing all processes to unfold
12] At times we make the tragedy of treating certain "standards", as universal truths

How many know, for instance that MDC didn't use by-election when it was formed, participating in 2 national elections without the system

Sadly, a new strategy now, is treated as "undemocratic"
13] I concede that to whom so much is given, so much is expected & that the unavailability of funds & fear of infiltration shouldn't be 'conviniently' used as justifiable reason for postponing or cancelation of democratic processes.

This however doesn't apply to this scenario.
14] Let's learn from history

It's strategic for CCC to always avoid holding Congresses during the election cycle.
The same strategy was used by the now defunct MDC since its formation.

We now need to accept the coincidental FACT that CCC was formed during an election cycle.
15] In any case, delaying (not postponing), an inaugural Congress isn't a contravention of any law

Nothing forces a 3 months year old party to prematurely hold a Congress
It's a diff scenario when there's an adopted Constitution with laid out stipulations
Currently, there's none
16] It's equally not lost to @nelsonchamisa, that it's now mad season, with so many 'prodigal sons & daughters' joining the citizens movement, 'right in time'

Whereas Nero won't bother choose his supporters, CCC won't be dragged into a process which has attracted Zanu's interest
17] Fellow citizens, I reiterate, let's allow processes to unfold, knowing fully well, that it's not everyone who asks about the baby's whereabouts, who means well.

Eyes on #RegisterToVoteZW, census, delimitation, ZEC, fundraising, & subsequently, 2023 candidates selection.
18] While at it, focus not, on appealing to ZanuPF's conscience

Also, some of us are self-respecting citizens. If there was a pattern exposing @nelsonchamisa's cluelessness, we would've moved on long back

We are missionaries, rallying behind the vision & its visionary

enkosi!

1] Once again, ZanuPF is exposing it's desperation

For this who may be unaware, @daddyhope is currently in Switzerland, at the Geneva Summit for Human Rights & Democracy

@daddyhope delivered a powerful speech on corruption, plunger & human rights abuses, by ZanuPF & its cronies
2] @daddyhope drew parallels between poverty/underdevelopment & corruption.

For instance, Zimbabwean gold worth US $100 m, is smuggled #monthly, at a time where ZanuPF has failed to built a single maternity ward in 42 years, contributing to death of 2500 pregnant women annually
3] Take this into context...

Our biggest hospital is Harare Hospital, after 42 years, it only has 2 maternity theaters (both build in 1977) and only one is working.

To build one maternity theatre, we only need US $37 k.

After 42 years, ZanuPF hasn't build any, at Harare Hosp

1] As the inaugural Citizens' Legislators take the other...

Today, 5th of April, was another significant day in as far as Zim politics is concerned.

As their 75 counterparts have been doing all week in Councils all over the country, 19 @CCCZimbabwe MPs were officially sworn in Image
2] The significance of the CCC MPs swearing in, is that its a stamping on electoral humiliation of Mwonzora

The onus was on MDC-T/MDC-A to use by-elections to 'reclaim' their seats

They had claimed their hand was forced, as those MPs nolonger represented their party interests Image
3] Mwonzora constantly warned that history would vindicate him, & that MDC-T was more than ready for the by-elections on March 26.

He needed to prove that voters in 2018 had voted for MDC-A, it's policies & interests

MDCs failure to win even one seat, was/is extremely exposing Image

1] Breaking News....

'Suspended' Chairperson of @OurMDCTHarare, @ZMhetu has broken rank with embattled party leader, @DMwonzora accusing him of a litany of charges, including leadership failure & responsibility for @OurMDCT by-elections humiliation

fb.watch/c6QzOkSDPZ/
2] #Mhetu

'Was blocked entery into HH after reporting what the voters said. I'm being victimised for telling the truth. I wanted to raise a vote of no confidence motion on Mwonzora in the National Council. Since the formation of MDC, it has never failed dismally in elections'
3] #Mhetu

'a President is the party CEO. Our failure to not even get a single seat was caused by Mwonzora's failure to create good strategies, friendly to the electorate. I can clearly state that Mwonzora is dining with ZanuPF. He doesn't do anything that grows the party.'

1] I realise that slowly, yet surely, we now have a conundrum, pertaining the issue of pro-CCC MPs & Councillors elected under the "MDC-A banner".

Because it open needless room for propaganda & infighting, this issue needs clarification, especially amongst the general supporters
2] It has always been important for Adv Chamisa to know the MPs & Councillors who were rallying behind him.

Post the Supreme Court Judgement, there was a deliberate decision to have MPs especially, sign affidavits affirming their membership to MDC-A party, when MDC-T broke away
3] The consequence of this was creating a distinction between representatives who stood by the people, & those who decided to protect selves from recalls, thus siding with Mwonzora.

The affidavits were both important legally & politically, to both signatories & those who didn't.

1] Yellow Nation, I greet you.

Couldn't stay away today, and miss being part of history.

Would have tweeted from the grave, if circumstances were that way.

The beautiful journey we citizens began on Jan 24th, has culminated into a yellow victory, totally worth celebrating.
2] Don't be dragged into downplaying the significance of the by-elections outcome.

Our movement is just but 2 months old.
We had no funds.
Our rallies we're systematically disrupted.
Many were beaten, some killed.

We found comfort in knowing we had each other, & we delivered.
3] With so much militating against the citizens' movement, winning 75/122 (61.5%) Council seats, & 19/28 (68%) Constitutencies, in an inaugural run, is worth celebrating.

Over & above that, we also observe that there are many many many more battles won yesterday.

A thread....

1] Postcard from Zimbabwe Grounds

Pursuant of the ancient wisdom "dzokororo ine simba", Simboti decided to redo his Harare Rally, after the unsurprising, yet embarrassing Zororo ground disaster.

Took time later on, to watch the rally, and a few things are becoming clear.
2] In terms of optics, one wonders why they decided to redo the rally

Evidently, Zororo Rally (1st pic) had predominantly Hararians, while for Zimbabwe Grounds rally (2nd pic), they mobilised from far & wide

If the end was supposed to justify the means, this was a disasterclass
3] Secondly, there is leadership deficiency in MDC

It doesn't help matters that the leader himself is incoherent.
He stammers & easily confuses himself

There isn't a single orator in MDC-T, who can "work a crowd"

I've attended funerals more enjoyable than the MDC-T gatherings
